This afternoon, we head off to Montreal for a week. And, of course, in his final walk before we leave, Sharky had blood in his poop. Sigh. We’re hoping it’s just doggy hemorrhoids (Is that a thing?) ad will keep an eye on him. Otherwise it’s off to the vet when we hit the West Island.
Meanwhile, our Best Of series continues tomorrow afternoon at 3 pm with a Stargate trifecta.
We’ll be talking The Fifth Race, The Shrine, and Twin Destines. Should be fun!
I’ve got eleven 2025 crime books lined up for this trip. Twelve if you count the one I’m halfway through. Of the 44 I’ve checked out to date, I can heartily recommend seven. I’ve posted six so far on this blog. This is the seventh…
Kill Your Darlings by Peter Swanson
The story of Wendy and Thom’s marriage is told in reverse, painting a portrait of a marriage defined by a single terrible act they plotted together many years ago.
Finally, a reminder that our Columbo rewatch will be coming to a (temporary?) end on Monday with the season seven finale “The Conspirators”. Are we going out with a bang? I hope so!

Hope Sharky will be OK xxx
With my first dog, I was just a teenager. Anytime he had something wrong I would cry and cry. I cried even when he got his annual shots. I use to go to the meat department in the grocery store and ask for any huge bones they had. My mom would boil them. Sam was a Saint Bernard, so it was perfect for him. Once he had a bloody rear end. Rushed him to Vet. They thought it was probably a bone he had eaten. It probably splintered then cut him somewhere along the way out. Also giving lots of different treats can irritate a stomach, like with my 2nd dog. You are a pug dog expert. I’m sure Sharky is in good hands with you and Akemi. Hoping it goes away and he gets well fast.
I’m wanting Columbo to continue. I have really enjoyed watching that show. Just take a break until you finish your Best Of.
Enjoy your trip! Say hi to your mom for us.
Guess what? I restarted yesterday SG-1 saga with the feature film and ep 1-2-3 of season 1…chut so nothing to our children they will institutionnalise us…
Hope you all had a safe flight and thinking of Sharky.
I hope Sharky is okay! I do remember reading something about that a while ago, and there is some temporary condition where that will happen and it’s not serious. Keeping my hopes up this is the case here.
Just got home from my week long camping trip to Cape Breton’s Cabot Trail. So beautiful, but the heat was crazy so I didn’t do a lot of hiking and restricted it to the mornings. Then I spent a couple days visiting my friend in PEI on the way home. Nice trip.
Hope all goes well in Montreal!
Awww! I hope it’s just doggie hemorrhoids!
