I’m glad you’re mom is better. I hope the dr finds the right medication to find a good balance.
My mom likes hospital life, so far. The nurses are nice and they bring her tons of food. Looks like mom will have to go for rehab to get her strength up but she should recover from this bout. They said it started with a kidney infection and the nurse practitioner either gave her the wrong antibiotics or mom had a reaction to the antibiotics. I’m not clear on that point.

Yeah, I’m getting tired of Facebook because I get caught up watching stupid time-wasting reels, and my tablet just makes scrolling through those things too darn easy. But the biggest reason I’m trying to get back here is because I miss my Joey! 😀 The second reason is because – after living 7 years in this house – I finally have a regular computer downstairs (where I spend most of my time), and it’s in a handy place. For some reason I need the larger screen of the computer and a real keyboard to comfortably enjoy Joe’s musings. The tablet is fine for Facebook, but it just doesn’t work well for me with other things, like this blog, and email, and buying stuff. I prefer a real keyboard, a big screen, and antivirus protection for those sorts of things! 😀
A couple years ago my mom had a UTI and was given an antibiotic (Bactrum) that had a bad interaction with her BP meds (Losartan potassium). Mom wasn’t doing well one morning, but I didn’t know why. She has a loop recorder implanted for her heart, and the doctor called to alert us that the recorder notified him of a heart “incident” with mom, and to take her to the ER. We did. Her potassium was so high that it almost stopped her heart (her pulse was down to 35). They changed up her meds and she was fine. I questioned the pharmacy as to why the computer didn’t catch the drug interaction, and they said because the computer doesn’t keep tract of age specific interactions. In other words, in an otherwise healthy younger adult, Bactrum and Losartan don’t create a problem, but in an older adult that is prone to dehydration (as my mom is at times), then it can cause a dangerous increase in potassium.
Good to know…now.

My bean and cheese burrito would beg to differ!
I’m a big fan of the Full English and would definitely eat it in a bread roll. Dunno why it needs to be chopped up so much, though.
I’d try everything in your list at least one time. The Soup Drops are weird but, done right, could actually be quite tasty.

I’ve had beef and chopped bean on open flat bread. It’s actually not bad.
Not memorably delicious. But not terrible. It was a long time ago so I don’t recall what type of bean -but I do recall finishing it without cringing.Worst for me would be the hot honey hummus. I like hummus but I don’t know what’s up with this trend of late – Mixing spicy honey into things like tuna salad melts made with mayo and cheddar or drizzling heated honey onto blended chick pea with tahini sauce ???!!!

Speaking of beans … A new friend from Singapore recently had me try a home made bean vanilla ice cream bar coated in a roasted sesame candy shell.

A definite yes on the gf brownies! And a yes on the candied tangerines, too. A big NO on the soup candy. 😛 All the chocolate-y things sound good (even that mint one), but my curiosity is piqued by that honey hummus. I would venture a taste.

I do like a nice fry up as a treat but the chopped English sarnie, nooooo, far too much brown sauce in it and like Line Noise says, really doesn’t need to be chopped up. Give me a normal bacon, sausage and fried egg sarnie any day!
