Throw in a pack of Popeye cigarettes and kids back then were set!
Two weeks after bouncing the back of my head off the pavement after being hit by a bike racing the wrong way down a one-way street, I banged my forehead on the bathroom counter while putting towels away. These things have a tendency to happen in 3’s so I am anxiously awaiting my next cranial blow.
Speaking of which, Akemi is slowly but surely putting together our Japan trip, booking our flights and hotel, calling up the restaurants for reservations, and researching fun things to do. I’m leaving the planning completely in her hands. While in Tokyo, we’ll be hitting Sushi’s Masa, the site of our 50-pieces-of-sushi extravaganza a couple of years ago that left Akemi barely able to walk. We’ll also be paying a return visit to some of our off-the-radar favorites like Sanbun whose chef and proprietor starts the meal off with a couple of turmeric pills because she expects you to drink up a storm with her. In Osaka, Akemi has rebooked the Zentis Osaka, our absolute favorite boutique hotel just steps away from our favorite high-end coffee shop Glitch Coffee.
Gradually easing myself back to work. I’ve been prepping my pitch for the action-adventure series we’ll be going out with later this month, and will also be refining the pitch for The Mote in God’s Eye with Harry Kloor.
He’s right!
