Sis’s tomato tart – and cannoli.

It’s more than likely I’ll be making a return trip sooner than later as we try to figure out next steps for mom.

P.S. Thanks for all your suggestions and personal accounts.  They’ve been incredibly helpful!

  1. My mom visit went well. Although, she’s forgetting things that I’m surprised about. My mom is the last of 13 children. Several of them were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, so I’m paranoid about when she forgets things. She seems happy enough, though.

Pain of any kind sucks! There’s quite a few of us dealing with back issues. Unfortunately, no magic bullet exists to eliminate back pain and your mom’s age makes it even worse. I hope you got some usable ideas from all that replied.

    Enjoy your time home!

  2. Praying your mom gets to feeling better. In her family you have mentioned how long they live, so she is still a youngster. So hoping this is just a bad period she is going through and can find the right relief. Keeping you and your sister in my thoughts. I know what it is like to care for elderly parents and how mentally and physically taxing it is. Hang tough and know you are doing the right thing in taking care of and making sure she has everything she needs. You are great kids. Your mom is so blessed!
