Yes, things are moving along. Perhaps not as quickly as I’d hoped. But they’re moving along.
Fielded a call yesterday about another ongoing project that is close to completing another key stage towards – hopefully – a green light. The shooting locations for this one have been narrowed down to Hungary and Greece. For Akemi’s sake, I’m hoping it’s the latter as I think the food scene in Greece (seafood) trumps Hungary (meat).
Incremental progress on the cozy mystery series and the horror-comedy.
Fully supporting Akemi’s renewed interest in baking by eating the hell out of this focaccia.
Recent roast duck lunch with balsamic-glazed cipollini onions. Pretty delicious.
Akemi’s latest DIY project is a doggy treat box she has placed outside our door for the other dog owners (and dogs).
What do you think of this…
I don’t know if I could eat nothing but meat for a week. On the other hand, if this guy was cooking for me…
Finally, closing this entry with a dedication to blog regular Ponytail who is recovering from surgery. Wishing her a speedy and full recovery!

I admit that I’m quite the enthusiastic carnivore, but only eating meat seems a bit extreme, especially with all of my health issues. If I’m allowed to eat fresh veggies, then this keto diet is pretty much what I’m already doing. Still haven’t lost any weight… in fact, I’ve gained a few pounds. UGH. Then again, I’m not allowed to eat fatty meats due to my cholesterol level.
Overall, I think this is another fad diet craze that isn’t sustainable over a long period of time. The one thing I am attempting is to eliminate the American version of “bread”. One of my parent’s best friends grew up in Germany, & his father was a baker there. When Dietmar gifted his parents a loaf of American bread (sourdough I believe), his father picked it up with great disdain & proceeded to squish it in his giant paws while declaring that American bread is disgusting: “It’s nothing but air! Pfaugh!”
Yeah, I’ve switched over to whole multigrain bread. I love the nutty flavor.
All the best to Ponytail!
So, “Human Nature” will completely shoot in the Azores?
The Azores and Lisbon. IF it gets a green light.
Congrats on the progress of “Human Nature”. I’m looking forward to hearing more!
There’s lots of research out there on high protein and keto diets. While a meat only diet sounds very appealing to me I don’t think I could cope with the side effects. Plus, I could never give up chocolate, rice, pasta and bread!
Oh, that sounds cool! Keep us posted on developments!
Akemi continues to be awesome – that bread looks delicious.
Sending my best wishes to Ponytail.
Akemi has great ideas! The food looks delicious, too.
Has anyone heard from Ponytail?
We have rain moving in today and I took advantage of the cooler temps for yard work. It’s only in the mid 80’s (F). The humidity is still killer but I’ll take mid 80’s over temps reaching 100.
Best wishes on the projects going to how you like them. 👋🏻
That meat vid said who ever shared ( sent ) this video owes me a steak dinner…. when can we do this Joe … I am in UK tho! 😉
Did the Keto thing a few years ago and it works, don’t miss the carbs ( used to snack on cheese and crackers, toasted sarnies etc. ) and not a problem with headaches or withdrawal from the processed carbs from bread etc.
Good luck with your projects Joe!
That doggy treat box is adorable. I know Sharky has plenty of treats to spare. How is it going? Are other dogs taking the treats?
Thanks again everybody!
There are a few dogs on our floor and some of the owners are helping themselves. Akemi always checks and is ultimately thrilled to discover she has to replenish the stock.
Best of luck with the series.
