Only Murders in the Building (2021 – ) Season 1
Three strangers – who live in the same New York City apartment building and share an obsession with true crime – suddenly find themselves embroiled in a murder.
My thoughts: Sometimes a little too contrived in its plotting, but nevertheless a lot of fun.
4/5
The Patient (2022)
A psychotherapist finds himself held prisoner by a serial killer who demands he help him curb his homicidal urges.
My thoughts: Tedious and devoid of suspense. Even given its 10 x 20 minute format, the story feels stretched.
3/5
Broen/The Bridge (2011 – 2018 ) Season 3
When a woman’s body is found on a construction site in Malmö, Sweden – posed in a tableau representing a traditional family – Saga is assigned to the case along with her new partner, Copenhagen police officer Hanne Thomsen.
My thoughts: The show admittedly loses some of its magic with the departure of Kim Bodnia’s Martin, but Sofia Helen still manages to carry the show.
4/5
Only Murders in the Building (2021 – ) Season 2
When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth.
My thoughts: If you enjoyed season 1 (which I did), you’ll no doubt enjoy season 2 (which I did).
4/5
Dublin Murders (2019)
In the Dublin Murder Squad, Garda detectives Rob Reilly and Cassie Maddox investigate murder cases that tap into Ireland’s past and also touch on their own personal lives.
My thoughts: Partway through, shifts to a preposterous second story involving a doppelgänger of the lead detective.
2.5/5

Love Only Murders, I want to live in that building, but the HOA fees must be horrendous. I miss Endeavour and Inspector Lewis, need another elegant Oxford mystery show in my life
I briefly kicked my slaw dog addiction but before I knew it I was stirring chili and making messy hot dogs all over again. However I feel very philanthropic after ordering many Girl Scout cookies, though still can’t get hold of their famous raspberry cookie.
Interesting and I might give “Only Murder in the Building” another go.
I liked Sofia Helen, too. There are so many good actors/actresses in other countries that we don’t we over here. With captions, I’ve been able to see some of these new shows. I leave captions on most of the time now. It drives my son crazy but (when they work) it makes it much easier to understand unusual accents.
Oh and Happy Sunday Sharky!
I enjoyed “Only Murders in the Building” but my husband didn’t. He thought it was too fragmented. However, he loves the cast.
Only Murders is great! But I don’t watch it for murder mystery (which I, too, find contrived and only solvable with perfect knowledge that we aren’t privy to until near the end of the season), I watch it for the neurotic old men!
