Well, pitched my take for the revised pilot script yesterday and the team seemed to like it.  I’ll make a few minor adjustments, brainstorm some ideas for the first season finale with series creator  Denis, then schedule a second pitch with the network.  Once they sign off, I’ll write the script, get THAT approved and after that it’ll be smoooooooth sailing!  In the beautiful waters off Portugal!

Meanwhile, another pitch looms…soon…ish.  I was given a window of something mid to late March and that is fast-approaching.  It would be great to nail down the dates sooner than later as I would rather not be paying 11th hour prices for an L.A. trip.  P.S. Nothing wrong with a good ole-fashioned zoom pitch by the by!

Going to the store to pick up Häagen-Dazs but they only have Ben & Jerry’s.

Today’s Yes/No…

  1. Portugal would be fun. I hope “we” get to go.

I’ve done that forgot-and-left-the-cardboard-under-the-frozen-pizza thing before. After cooking it, I found the cardboard and was horrified! I could have burned the house down!

Did you ever get your Häagen-Dazs?

  2. Well, I was born and raised in Portugal (live in California now — San Francisco and Lisbon are incredibly similar in many ways) so keeping my fingers crossed it gets picked up… Will be happy to provide tips on food and wine, my father’s side had run a vineyard and an olive orchard for 27 generations (not a typo) and my maternal grandfather came from a long line of fisherman so… I am a definitely a sea-foodie and wine snob. 🤣

What part of the country would it be shot at? Very different everything depending where it is, down to a 50-60 km resolution (eg Lisbon and Porto have radically different food, wine, culture and accents… they are 300 km from each other)

    1. I will circle back for those recommendations! We’d be in Lisbon and the Azores.

      1. Well those two could not be more different so you’ll get plenty of variety if it happens… The Azores are a nature lover’s paradise but the food is so-so (and it rains a lot) and Lisbon is foodie paradise but as pretty as it is it’s not the Azores in sheer breathtaking beauty. Much better weather though 😁

  3. Fingers crossed for that Portugal gig!

March 10 is National Ranch Day? Who knew?

  4. I’m sending good thoughts that things go as you like! I can’t wait for “our” trip to Portugal!

  5. Ben and Jerry’s is okay but I LOVE Häagen-Dazs ice cream, especially their Belgium dark chocolate. Sometimes, I’ll add a scoop of mint chocolate chip and toasted almonds to the bowl.
