On Sunday, I try and get things ready for the week. One of those things is to make boiled eggs for the weekday morning. I’ve been cleaning up my diet and my breakfast is one boiled egg before I swim laps.
For years, I’ve had a hard time peeling the eggs and most of the time, the peeled eggs look mangled. I’ve been tweeting this chef and got a few tips that were a game changer. I buy a dozen of eggs and set them back for a week in the fridge to age. Then I steam, instead of boil them and the eggs shells come off easy. Changed my life! It’s the little things…
Anyhoo, thought I would share my egg tips in case anyone is struggling with mangled eggs.

Steaming?
I have a steamer basket and plop the eggs inside the basket (with a lid) after it hits a boil. I like a semi-soft egg (easier to eat by hand) and that usually 8-9 minutes. A few minutes in an ice bath, roll the egg on the counter until it has a few cracks and the shells nearly fall off.
Oh and on a personal note, my hubby found a six pack of foreign beer from Costco and he’s having a blast trying one a day. So far, his favorite is from Germany with a wheat base.
