When Sharky went in for this much-needed dental on Thursday, we were expecting him to lose a few of his teeth. We did not expect he’d be losing ALL of them, but that was the initial prognosis.  His mouth was in a bad way.  But, when all was said and done, he only ended up losing seven (!).  He still has maybe 5-6 teeth left and he should be back to chewing his kibble in no time. Poor little guy.

Meanwhile, his training continues…

Putting his socks and boots on before his walk…

The Nap King…

And snuggling with mom…

  1. Very glad to hear Sharky didn’t need to have all his teeth removed.
He’s such a sweet boy and has already been through so much he has had to adapt to.

So he’s not as gummy as you thought he’d be xxx he can still eat his biscuits 😍 (kibble) give him big cuddles xxx

  4. He’s a very noble looking chap. Although perhaps less so in the ‘good night’ video!

  5. Sharky is the prettiest and most adorable dog. He must get daily baths or grooming by his mama. Lucky boy.

On a personal note… I have been diagnosed with cancer. I have surgery on Tuesday Jan. 30th. This could be bad so I may be gone for a while. If I don’t make it back, I just want to say how much I have enjoyed your blog over the past 17 years. Always entertaining. I love you Joe.

What a sweet, cuddly boy! 💖 I suppose it’s a good thing he got to keep some of his teeth. Although a life of all soft food isn’t such a bad deal.

Sharky is obviously so happy with you and Akemi. He deserves the wonderful quality of care and life experiences that you provide. Dogs that have suffered like he has are usually so appreciative of the least act of kindness.

Ponytail, I am so sorry to hear of this difficult diagnosis. I will be praying for you as you go through surgery. May the medical personnel have skills beyond themselves and the surgery prove to be curative. I’ll be remembering you through your recovery until you’re back with us.
