Did a little reading today, a little writing, and a little dog-walking. It looks like winter is finally in the rearview mirror – but, to be fair, the last time we made this assumption it snowed and the temperature dropped. Still, Akemi is cautiously optimistic that she can finally wash our winter gear and put it away in storage.
Made some progress on the sci-fi/kpop mashup, the former pilot now a two parter opener. Breaking down the episodes is the hard part. After that, it’s smoooooth sailing as I move on to outline, scrip, and rewrites!
What’s your favorite cheese to top a burger? I’m a cheddar man, but Chateau de Bourgogne is a decadent alt.
Today’s Yes/No…
Blackberry Cobbler Ice Cream? Yes/No
Blue Bell's popular Southern Blackberry Cobbler ice cream returns for a limited time https://t.co/JZg4w7Gg1p— Joseph Mallozzi (@BaronDestructo) May 14, 2022
Hmmmm. Had some wine & cheese party leftovers for dinner tonight. I opened up one of the spicy cured pork sticks I never got around to serving Wednesday night – and my tongue instantly reacted, feeling tingly at first and then, strangely, heavy. So I tossed out the rest and finished up with an antihistamine. Stay tuned to this blog for further potentially alarming updates.
I’ll try to find the Blue Bell Blackberry Cobbler and review it, but frankly, Blue Bell has earned it’s slogan: “The best ice cream in the country!”
…its slogan…
Darned Autocorrect Gremlin.
Anyway, still watching for Blue Bell Blackberry Cobbler at my closest supermarkets. I think I’ve had it before, though, and recall that it was good.
What could your spicy cured pork sticks have in it that you might be allergic to? Hopefully it was just the spicy part that got you.
I don’t have a favorite cheese on hamburger topping. Cheese is good for keeping the onion and tomato from sliding off. And I’d rather have a Southern Apple Cobbler Ice Cream.
Cheddar for my burger!
Allergic to some kind of spice? I had that happen once. After eating Tex-Mex my lips were swollen up. I never pinpointed the trigger ingredient. Did you? Better keep some Benadryl around.
Yes, on the ice cream. I saw your article about eating blueberries. Lately, I’ve been having yogurt w/blueberries every day. Once, you find a good batch of berries they are delicious! I never had them growing up. We had plenty of peaches, cherries, strawberries, apples and pears but no blueberries.
Burger toppings? Cheddar is a classic! I like different things on different days such as, grilled avocado, grilled pineapple, lettuce, tomato and mustard. I’ve seen cooking shows where they put a fried egg on burgers. Have you ever tried that?
Not a big fan of eggs on my burger.
I can’t get Blue Bell ice cream here, but strangely, I can get fresh blackberries anytime of the year so you better believe my family has had blackberry cobbler with ice cream this year. If I can get enough blackberries, it’ll be blackberry dumplings.
Wine, cheese, and cured meats. Yeah, good call on the antihistamine. Eating kidney can increase your tolerance to histamines in food. It’ll make the difference for me between getting hives from kimchee and just feeling guilty for being so weak.
