Christmas Eve is upon us.  And you know what that means, right?  Yes!  It’s time to reflect back on the past few months and take stock of how your fantasy football team has performed.

Well, this was the first year I really didn’t pay that much attention to fantasy football.  Part of it was a shift in focus to stocks, but frustration played a big part in it.  The constant updating and data-crunching of previous seasons yielded solid teams that ended up flaming out in the post-season through bad luck.  So, this year, I did the opposite.  I stopped caring so much.  My reward?  A post-season berth in my original League of Accommodation and a first round playoff win…

Now, my Snow Monkeys head into semi-final action against the #1 ranked Taylor Made.  Will their dumb luck continue?

I should have invested in Hibiki Harmony over AT&T!

Today’s Yes/No…

The correct answer is, of course, a resounding YES, especially if served alongside a bowl of sake ice cream.

So, how go your Christmases (Christmasii?).  Akemi, Suji and I are enjoying a nice festively quiet celebration.  Still debating whether we should open our presents (spoiler alert: chocolate!) tonight or tomorrow.  What’s the procedure at your house?  The Mallozzi tradition has always been to open the gifts on Christmas Eve.

And what are your plans for Christmas Day?  We’re going to play it by ear but…spoiler alert…chocolate!

  1. Merry Christmas Joe and Akemi, it’s 11am Christmas day here in Tasmania, doing the traditional hot roasts, pork, beef, lamb, turkey, and cold ham plus heaps of baked veggies.
Then dessert, pavola, cheesecake, trifle, Christmas pudding and a very Australian chocolate ripple cake.
Have about 12 people coming for lunch, out in our garage, going to be about 27 degrees Celsius.

  2. Wishing everyone A Merry Christmas.

Here’s some humor for the holidays that’s sure to make
even the scroogiest scrooge laugh outloud. XO

Spending Christmas alone in my tiny windowless room. A very kind neighbor found a small night stand tv with built in dvd player in a thrift/second hand shop and brought it over with a couple dozen movies to watch. I’m currently enjoying a rewatch of every Planet Of The Apes Movie ever made.
I’d forgotten how good they were. Enjoying it immensely. Christmas dinner was a hearty bowl of homemade chicken soup. Wish I could have chocolate but I’ve been ordered back onto strict dietary restrictions.

Will update you guys on my progress and current condition under Joe’s Christmas Day blog entry.

Hugs And Much Love To All, Always.

  3. You know the old adage about monkey’s throwing darts to pick investments, don’t you? So I guess Snow Monkeys are very good at going down the pub…

Because of freezing rain threatening Eastern Ontario, Christmas with family (all vaxxed and isolated for two weeks) may be delayed a few days. No big plans anyway: presents, maybe a panto on Youtube and dinner. Of course the delay helps the maturing of the Christmas Pudding.

  4. I’m having a quiet Christmas with just two (vaccinated) friends coming over. My family tradition has always been to open gifts Christmas Eve. I hope you have a joyous, magical and delicious holiday. Merry Christmas from Wisconsin.

  5. We buy presents in advance (sometimes years in advance) to avoid last-minute shopping, and select some to take out of safe keeping on Christmas Day.
    .

  6. My daughter and her family are visiting and we will open gifts Christmas morning. Followed by more family coming to share a meal of baked ham, turkey, potato stuffing, candied sweet potatoes, ect.

  7. We open presents on Christmas Day. Opening them on Christmas Eve is a very European thing. Although we don’t really do presents amongst the adults anymore. It’s mostly about the kids.

  8. Christmas morning’s been and gone.
    The turkey’s in the oven.
    Presents strewn around the room,
    From chocs to Socks-a-dozen.

    Festive jumpers have been donned.
    The sound of neighbours singing.
But no kids playing in the street,
    They’re inside, with phones ringing.

  9. Merry Christmas! I had a great Christmas with some of my family in Northern California today, I opted to take a 12 hour drive from Arizona over 2 days instead of taking a flight. It was a long drive but I avoided the somewhat chaotic air travel system and possible Covid concerns, as a bonus my mom will be returning with me to visit for a week or so.

  10. My fantasy football teams have been a disaster this season. In the old league I ended up 4-10 (I’m 12 out of 12) so now I’m in the consolation playoffs. In the family league, which has only 4 teams, I finished 4-11 (4 out of 4). My Dad, who is just a beginner in FF but likes to watch the football, is leading at 11-4. I should take a leaf out of your book next season.

    Cheers, Chev
