I like to keep an open line of communication with my cast. I want them to know that they can come to me with any issues they have, creative or otherwise. I’m always here for them, willing to lend a sympathetic ear and, in some cases, equally sympathetic keyboard should the need ever arise for a little dialogue tweak or character adjustment.
Of course, I assume this is a two-way street, and nowhere is this more evident than in my professional relationship with actress Zoie Palmer (the Android). I probably exchange more texts with Zoie than I do anyone, including my girlfriend, which is great because – as I said – it’s important to keep those lines of communications open whether it be to discuss a line change, a scene request, or that really weird dream I had the other night where Zoie jumped into a frozen lake…

OMG, its’ snakes on a lake! I love weird dreams. Most of mine are mundane. I usually just dream that I was sleeping, if I dream at all. Your and Zoie’s heads are more fun.

So let me get this straight…. You pushed Zoie Palmer into a frozen lake then threw one end of an Anaconda in and told her to grab hold and you would pull her out except she grabbed the tail and you had the head and the Anaconda started swallowing you and somebody called Eric Estrada then you woke up? Really?

Well this has nothing to do with your subject but I wanted to share some of my morning with you. I do laps at our local YMCA most mornings. While I have my waterproof iPod (courtesy of my wonderful hubby) playing my favorite tunes, I people watch as I go back and forth. For a few weeks, something strange has been happening at the Y. People have been practicing boxing in the sauna. The room is about 8 x 6 (at the most) with benches for seating. There are two guys and two girls practicing with boxing gloves in this very tight space. Every morning I watch this and wonder when someone is going to slip and fall. No ambulance yet. I have never studied boxing but with karate, there are lots of body mechanics involved in punching. A lot of foot work too. So, I seriously doubt any real learning is happening in this small space. I’m “pretty sure” this is some kind of flirting game. What do you think? One think I know for certain, there is NO way I’m going into that sauna!

On a DM note…I think you can write a great part for Mark Dacascos as one of the corporations’ paid assassins or something. You don’t have to put him in that role obviously, it just seems like he could be a great fit on the show for one or a couple episodes.

How you react to stress in dreams says a lot; if you were standing scared while other people rescued Dream Zoie then that would imply a sense of helplessness.
So leaping to action and bracing yourself to ensure a successful rescue says you weren’t afraid to act and that you took charge, all good dream mojo.
And even anacondas are propitious since your astrology sign is Snake, which is a sign linked to good business. So it’s all good.
Very funny. I’m trying to figure out how can there be a snake, anaconda no less, in season 3? Or is the mention of a snake several times by Dark Matter cast just a coincidence? I know it’s a hint but this is just to hard to figure out. Maybe it will be a scene like blade runner with the synthetic snakes..
I will just wait to see.. but if there is a snake I’m going buckle in laughter.
That exchange made me laugh as I get caught up on your January posts. Tomorrow I will attempt to get caught up on February. I only have 1 pet sit tomorrow but I have a bunch of paperwork to do for Patrick and our receipts from 2016 so I can eventually file our tax return. Doubt I’ll be on time this year either. And now it’s 1:34 a.m. and I need to sleep. I better not dream of snakes. I hate snakes.
