Yes, Dark Matter is back tonight with an all-new instalment: “Episode 16: I’ve Seen the Other Side of You”.  Pictured above: the dog-themed pic that accompanies the episode.  I mean, come on.  Think of the title.  This one was a little easier than the rest.

    Can’t wait to see this one. I actually got this dog picture right.

    I took some video of Patrick’s school ground-breaking ceremony on my Facebook page. Several of them. If you had to choose one, choose the one with Jennifer Dantzler, executive director of the school. I have those set to public so anyone can see those. I also have pictures, but we have to be friends for those. It was wonderful.

    One of the people at Including Kids, MIchelle, nearly died in June. She contracted influenzae A and it attacked her heart. She developed sepsis. She had her chest opened up so many times to clean out the infection. This happened the weekend all the stuff was happening in Orlando. They were about to put her at the top of the heart transplant list when a miracle happened. I was NOT expecting to see her today and I did and I couldn’t contain the happy tears. I did, however, resist the urge to hug her because you could see how very bad that area still was. I squeezed her arm gently and after talking to her for a minute or two told her I had to walk away now before I couldn’t contain my tears anymore. Michelle and I worked on the Teacher Appreciation Committee so I got to know more about her this year than I did in previous years. She is in one of those pictures where the administrative staff are holding shovels.

    I’m pretty sure I got this picture right, but can’t put my fingers on my list at the moment. Driving my son and his girlfriend to a Firefly Festival tonight, so I’ll prolly be home just as the show is starting.

    How to get Dark Matter to trend tonight:

    1) Don’t use #DarkMatter before the designated time: 1 HOUR before Dark Matter airs.

    2) One # term per Tweet. (Only one hashtag because Twitter doesn’t count tweets towards trending with multiple hashtags. Their algorithm does not pick it up.

    Example: If everyone needs to use #DarkMatter there should be a coordinated effort that everyone just use that and not something else. So if someone tweets #FourClan #DarkMatter it won’t count towards trending at all.

    3) Lots of people tweeting matters more than the number of tweets.

    4) Those with lots of followers help out a lot!

    5) Private accounts must have their locked status removed, as the tweets from these accounts do not count toward the trend tally.

    6) Retweets are the easiest way to help out the trending effort. Just search for the hashtag, and retweet the ones that have just one hashtag.

    7) Thank the sponsors.

    (This is true for ANY show. Sponsors do pay attention to this. Often with DVR viewing, commercials are skipped. When people go out of their way to thank the sponsors means a great deal to them. For example: Thank you @subway for sponsoring #DarkMatter. It s a fabulous show. I think a sandwich would go well with it! ) They help with the retweets when they see things like that.

    Now, with the stuff in Nice, France and the coup in Turkey going on, it might be hard to get Dark Matter to trend tonight, but it will be good practice to see if we can follow the rules Twitter likes to trend stuff.

    I have decided that there are cosmic forces plotting against me & Dark Matter this summer. I missed the season premiere, granted I was on vaca and watched at a later time. Last wk went well. Now there’s this wk. I lost power about 70 mins ago. My neighbor’s power is out too so it’s not just me. Estimate repair time >3 hours. Which not only knocks me out of being able to view the show but the periscope as well. My Internet of course is out and my phone won’t support periscope. Sorry just had to rant. Will go dark until I have a chance to see the show 😡

    Loved this one – it really kept my attention! Lots of good things, but – alas – I have no idea what periscope is, and since I have proven to be both twitter and instagram illiterate, I’m skipping new tech for now. 😛

    Just saw the episode! Fantastic. This episode reminds me of a syfi novel where the ship had a human mind downloaded in it, making it aware. I just can’t seem to remember the title…oh well

    Well crap. I missed this one. This morning up at 5 am, at work by 6:30 am, worked till almost 5 pm, went straight to the grocery store to shop for my parents, got home a little before 7 pm, unloaded groceries, super hot and sweaty, was changing clothes while listening to my messages, when one was from my mom saying she was sick and wanted me to call her. Put back on my clothes, called her and sure enough she needs me to come over and bring her medication she had ordered, I get there and she is not well, load her up into my car, we arrive at the ER a little after 8 pm. Four hours later they determine nothing really wrong, so I take her home, then I get home about 1 am. I need to get in bed by 2 am because my parents are expecting me back at their house about 10 am. Watching Dark Matter could have saved this day. But no…

    My rant over.

      @Ponytail That is an extremely long day. I am glad she appears to be okay, but be on guard. ER’s are notorious for missing things. Hope you got some sleep. Sending hugs.

    Awesome ep last night! And thanks Joe for doing Periscope I enjoy that as much as the show. It’s almost like an after party, PB Mom thanks for the Tweet Tips. So the less the better. i have heard tho, that Tweets with pics get attention as well, that’s what i’ve heard, thoughts?

      @kabra I will admit that I don’t know that answer. These were the Twitter rules when the rabid Fringe fans were fighting for their show and actually worked together with Fox and Twitter to get it to trend every week. Pictures have become more a phenomenon as of late, but I think if there is a picture with one hashtag still, why the heck not? I don’t know if Twitter would reply to me but maybe Joe can ask Syfy to ask Twitter about how best to get something to trend in today’s landscape.

    You can’t really blame team new crew for arming up against team old crew. When you consider that Tetsuda, Lin and Boone were a lot more ruthless/dangerous before the memory wipe, not having a gun would be a bit silly.

    Not always PBMom. That’s what C3 ratings are for. 🙂

    By the way, unless you have a Nielsen box your viewing isn’t tracked anyways. It’s quite a common mistake for people to assume that individual viewers are tracked. Nothing you watch will ever count towards the ratings unless you have a box provided by Nielsen.

    And now finally to tonight’s episode. Crisis averted. Power was restored t-minus 23 minutes to air time. Sufficient time for my cable box & DVR to recover. There are so many things I loved about tonight’s episode! Loved the opening sequence though we had previously seen this in previews/sneak peaks. Loved the moment between Two & Three in the galley before all hell breaks loose. Loved the “real” Raza crew – callous, ruthless, mess with your head mercenaries. Loved the old vs new Raza standoff. Loved the whole “14 months” and Boone’s reaction. Loved the glimpse into the real Marcus and his lockbox of treasures. Nice rocket. Nice blue glowy thing. (So awesome to see a prop from behind the scenes when filming and going “oh, I remember that”.) Looks like Two, Three & Four had a real working relationship prior to the memory swipe. The Randroid makes an appearance. The Matrix is revisited. And Five saves the day!! I agree this will probably be one of my favorite episodes of the season. Nicely done!!

    Already counting down to next wks episode. Looks like Dark Matter meets Forever Knight. I love Nigel Bennett. Wonder if there are vampires in this universe?
