“What,”I’m sure you’ve been asking yourself, “are we to expect from Dark Matter?”  Well, for starters…

“We have a five-year game plan,” Mallozzi explains. “One of the things I think audiences will love is the fact that because we’ve been able to plan so well; we’re able to drop hints to various character reveals and various twists and turns that will pay off later down the line either near the end of season one or beyond it.”

  1. That Zobot sneak peak looks fantastic. The look of the show is just such high quality, not that I’m the least surprised of course. I’m really excited for the premiere!

Been super busy with the house of course, between addressing a couple of inspection issues, doing some reno work that the buyer requested as part of the sales agreement and planning for packing, etc. I’m pretty sure it will be smooooth sailing from here on. Had a meeting with my builder today to finalize the plans for the new house, so that’s pretty exciting.

  2. I loves me a five year plan for story arcs and lots and lots of hints that do mean something (as long as the diversion to hints doesn’t drag down the tightness and pace of individual episodes). I think this is my favorite show ever already just from hearing that one thing.

One thing that would have made Lost half as fun for me if I’d learned it earlier was that J.J. Abrams will sometimes throw something oddball out there and figure out how it fits into things later. Polar bears? What does it mean? Are they near the North pole? Is there a portal somewhere? Maybe, but that’s not why there’s a polar bear. They could’ve had a sand dune fall on them for all the story needed from something being dangerous and out of place enough to justify a tight frame on a rattled Sawyer as we WTF music out to commercials. But it was fun wondering when it happened because I was ignorant of Abrams’ dark secret.

And then watching Fringe knowing the shocking moments might have been just Abrams being random was less fun. Peter beating up his ex’s boyfriend went nowhere in revealing anything about Peter’s baseline character, other shocking moments did go somewhere, but they were all less fun in knowing that at the time I saw them, they might have been just random abramsfoolery.

Hints and wondering what they mean are fun, but the big fun is the reveal. I’m not into slow reveals, I’m into a big reveal that is the key to decrypt all the previous hints and running through my memories with the key is the chance to relive all the fun at once. Did I mention fun?

  3. OHH, that ZOBOT is gonna be awesome! Jodelle is such a style setter, love her outfits, she is so cute!! Bubba is no match for a zobot, Is this the only Zobot around or are there more? I am scared…but looking forward to the show.

  4. Did THREE just call Roger “Tiny” and the Android “Sweet Cakes”? I can tell Marcus Boone’s mouth is going to get him in a lot of trouble! And Zoie Palmer is rocking that Zobot!

@ whoviantrish – So sorry about your family’s loss. Two at the same time is heart wrenching.

  5. No love for Dark Matter from TV Guide. Their summer preview issue is out, and no mention of Dark Matter. They do mention Killjoys.

  6. The clip is fantastic!
Bubba is a great looking rifle(s). Nice to see Heckler & Koch still in business in the future. =)
The wound is very well done. It even stands up to image zoom.
I’m really looking forward to the next 5 years.

Your comment about androids dreaming reminds me of a Scalzi book I saw on Amazon. I haven’t read it yet but the description looks interesting: http://smile.amazon.com/Androids-Dream-John-Scalzi-ebook/dp/B002GYI974/ref=sr_1_18?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1432819621&sr=1-18&keywords=john+scalzi

You’ve succeeded in making us all anticipating Dark Matter. 🙂

Today is being spent at the oral surgeon for son’s wisdom teeth extraction. My kindle is full, so I’m set.

  8. 😳 on grammar!

Forgot to add something my hubby brought up about Phages. He’s fairly sure that’s how the Zombie Apocalypse starts: Scientist monkeying around with viruses. 🙂 How’s your research on that going? How is Jelly today?

  9. Sorry I have not been a regular commenter. I have been reading every blog post though.

That containment chamber reminds me of the one in Stargate Season 6, Abyss. That movable gravity prison cell was very clever.

  10. I like how the gun is called “Bubba.” Did Akemi get to name it?

Argh about my Flash Player not “working” on Syfy. I troubleshoot Flash Player and it tells me it is installed already in Explorer with Windows 8 and when I test it, it says I have the right one and it’s working just fine. I hate technology. So I’m glad it worked on Blastr’s site.

Sorry I’m behind this week, but it’s not work this week that has been keeping me. Flooding! Horrible storms and horrible flooding, and a breakthrough seizure. Never a dull moment around here. The creek has just passed flood stage near me. Let’s see what happens.
