Movie #20: Cloud (Kuraudo)
Yoshii, a young man who resells goods online, finds himself at the center of a series of mysterious events that put his life at risk.
My thoughts: Not really horror and, honestly, barely a thriller.
My rating: 3/5
Movie #21: Holy Night: Demon Hunters
An occult action film in which a team of demon hunters battle evil spirits.
My thoughts: Above average fisticuffs for a supernatural movie. Solid popcorn fun.
My rating: 3.5/5
Movie #22: The Severed Sun
Magpie lives in an isolated church community ruled over by her father, The Pastor. When a man is murdered, paranoia sets in and people start to whisper about a strange ‘Beast’ that lives in the forest.
My thoughts: Apparently based on a short film that, I suspect, was tighter and better.
My rating: 2.5/5
Movie #23: I Love You Forever
A subversive romantic comedy gone wrong that follows a young woman into and out of an emotionally abusive relationship.
My thoughts: Listed by some sites as horror but it’s a stretch. Still, gets dark – but never loses its sense of humor.
My rating: 4/5
The Shrouds
Karsh, an innovative businessman and grieving widower, builds a device to connect with the dead inside a burial shroud.
My thoughts: Interesting, albeit dubious, concept – but a talky slog to get through.
My rating: 2.5
