The results of Sharky’s DNA test are in and they are…underwhelming!
I guessed mostly pug but probably some beagle. Maybe mastiff or boxer. Perhaps a touch of dachshund?
We sent away the samples three weeks ago and today were alerted to the results.
Are you ready?
Yep. Mostly pug. I’m not surprised he’s majority pug but kind of surprised by how much pug given the big ears, stubby legs, and sausage-like body.
But maybe there are answers in that 7.5%?
Unresolved? DNA too small to assign to any one breed? Come on.
So the best they can do is guess…
I mean sure, it’s possible.
I guess.
How uncertainly uninteresting.
In other news, the semifinal results are in in the Stargate Greatest Villain Tournament. To no one’s surprise, neither was particularly close…

Doggie DNA test is a bit of fun in a serious world. I’m not surprised by the majority pug result for Sharky.
I’ve gone to pet shows and talked to show owners. There can be big variances between pet and show quality in looks.
Plus, I’ve seen a few dog owners bring in their “registered” babies to the animal hospitals I worked at. A few rotties with white spots, short haired spitz dogs, Persian cats with a longer nose (instead of flat), and etc. Personally, I prefer pet quality cats/dogs. They seem more normal.
On your crime show binge: We’ve been watching a few Columbo’s after you talked about them so highly. I’d forgotten how good they are. My son likes Monk and I told him this was what Monk must have been based on. Except, Monk is more of a parody and Columbo is the real deal.
One thing I like about these older shows is the fashion/room decor. My son watched one Columbo with me and the shag green carpet =🤯. He’s never seen shag carpet. I’m not sure if they still make that but it was fun to see.
Yes, love the old Columbo’s for exactly the same reasons.
“Unresolved”?? Isn’t it their job to resolve this issue?? Did you tell them he was Pug or did they say that on their own. They could have at least said he was part of royalty or something good like that. Oh well. He’s the cutest little Pugpekinspan! 🙂
In retrospect, I think we went with the wrong company.

No brainer really. Out of those two it’s Baal all the way.
Sharky is also 100% adorable. And I mean, every guy should have a little mystery in his background.
The choice for villain is Baal, obviously. Was there ever really any doubt?
