Hello it’s me. I first want to say THANK YOU to all the well wishes and words of encouragement. I saw them all. Thank you for the emails and direct messages too. Joe, Drea, Tam, and gForce. (@Drea – “still breathing”.)
During surgery my doctor made the decision not to continue. He saw too much cancer. He decided to go the chemotherapy route first, hoping to shrink things down. Then try surgery again later on. I can’t just give up, so I’m with him. I start chemo right away.
The funny thing is I am/was/still feeling great. Just suddenly had a strange symptom. Turns out that one symptom occurs in this particular type of cancer at end stage. So the outlook is bleak. I am here and will be until I am not anymore. I feel like that guy in the 1950’s movie “The Incredible Shrinking Man”. Saw that movie as a little kid and thought it was pretty cool! I appreciate all of you and the friendship over the years.
Now Joe… keep the Sharky posts coming (here and Twitter). Your dog is so adorable! He is a bright spot in my life right now. Thank you for sharing him with everyone!
I’m here for you, girlfriend. anytime. day or night. xo
Don’t give up. Even if chemo doesn’t do enough to make surgical removal possible in the first round there are usually alternative targeted therapies to try. Let me know and I’ll gladly help with research to put you in touch with the right doctors to consult.
And yes, @Joe….. pretty please do keep those much too adorable Sharky posts coming.
Best happy place therapy around. xoxo
Me thinks Sharky needs more shark pal toys. xo
Blue sharks are often spotted swimming in large schools and once they begin breeding, can have up to 135 pups in a single litter.
It’s good to hear from you. I am so sorry that the surgery didn’t go as planned. You’re still in my prayers. There is no way to predict the future for any of us. The best that we can do is make the most of each day.
Joe & Akemi,
Sharky is such a special boy! I am so impressed with how well he has done overall. Your Sunday post is the highlight of my day. Thanks!

So good to hear from you. I’m sorry the surgery wasn’t successful, but hoping the chemo does help. We’re here for you!
