Alrighty!  Just closed a deal for one of my pilots.  Going to spend the next couple of days putting together the content for the pitch deck: Format, Pilot Summary, Season 1 Summary, Beyond Season 1 (at a glance), Tone, Style, References, and a Writer’s Bio.  This one is delightfully bonkers, very much in the world of over-the-top contemporary sci-fi, and chock full ‘o humor.

The new pilot wound its way to ten different places.  Waiting on a group chat with my “team” to discuss strategy.  This is one of those rare shows (for me) that would work just as well on network as it would on streaming.  “A ton of fun” raves my Canadian agent!

Took Suji for her physio today.  She was NOT happy.  And, apparently, demonstrated little enthusiasm in the water.  The tech believes her neurological condition is progressing as she is losing sensation in her front legs now.  Suji has her annual physical tomorrow, so we’ll ask the vet’s opinion but, at this point, I’m not sure there’s much we can do for her outside of making sure she’s comfortable.  And, of course, well fed.

On the way back home, we ended up getting caught in the rain.  Suji stayed fairly dry under cover of her stroller while Akemi and I got soaked.

When we got home, however, Suji seemed in some distress.  Akemi assumed she may have inhaled some water and she seemed to be having some trouble breathing.  After setting her down on the couch and adjusting a pillow beneath her, she relaxed, sneezed, and fell asleep, snoring away.  Hopefully better now but will make it a point to mention it to the vet at tomorrow’s appointment.

A show.  A SHOW!  Not a network!

Today’s Yes/No…

  1. Poor Suji! Hope that she makes it over these bumps okay.

Good news on the project – keep us posted.

  2. I hope that the vet can do something to help Suji. She has been such a wonderful family member and finally saying goodbye is going to be so painful. I pray that she can enjoy more quality time with you. All the best to you, Akemi, and Suji.

  3. Lost betrayed me because I have fun guessing why things are happening but it was just random.

  4. Good timing on Suji’s annual vet trip. Best wishes.

Congratulations on your pilot! Sounds great!

  5. Soft soothing snuggies for Suji.
Shiitake and Reishi mushrooms might help a bit.
    Congrats on new project.

  6. Much luck with the pilot! Sounds interesting. I think even the most dramatic series should have some humor.

  7. Awesome news on the bonkers pilot! I’ll keep my fingers and toes crossed and stay tuned 🙂

Wishing for the best for Suji our pets are family and I’m sure missing Gypsy.

  8. Congrats on the pilot, Joe. Here’s hoping that Suji’s vet appointment goes well.

A show, not a network? There’s a lot of networks (and streamers and syndicators). As a kid, the last season of Buck Rogers was a real WTF. In this century it would probably be ST: Discovery. I try to keep in mind all of the “Not my Trek,” I heard in 87 but Disco has been a series of bad ideas given to great actors.
