Tonight, Akemi and I took out from one of our favorite Toronto restaurants – Edulis.

Everything came individually packaged with simple prep and reheating instructions…
Canapé Toast of Tuna “Sobrassada”
Dungeness Crab with Cucumber, Radish, and Herbs
White Bouillabaisse with Rouille and Croutons. This one was the smash hit of the evening.
Escarole Salad with Fennel, Celery, and Walnuts
“Stroganoff” of Wild Chanterelle, Black Trumpet, and Yellowfoot Mushrooms with Celeriac “Noodles”
Black truffle “bikini”. Now this one was my favorite.
Came with its own little story!
Duck Leg Stewed with Castelvetrano Olives and Semolina Polenta. Akemi tapped out before we got here, electing to save her duck for tomorrow. This was Suji’s favorite course.
Apple Cake with Salted Caramel Crème Anglaise. I topped it with a scoop of whiskey salted caramel ice cream from Pandoughra’s Box. A perfect pairing.
A fantastic meal.
Tomorrow, it’s back to steelcut oatmeal and blueberries!
That looks amazing!!!
That all looks fantastic! I would eat it all.
Ooh, looks very delicious. 😋
So you’re still locked down up there? It looks like most of the Canadians who come to the community where my parents live in Florida have been able to cross the border. I wasn’t able to get down here last year until April when I was vaccinated, and then it looked almost deserted without any Canadians.
This year is bittersweet because I’m helping my parents move back to PA so they can be closer to their two great-grandchildren. I may not get another winter break in FL for quite a while.
The food looks delicious! I’ve never had truffles before. Can you describe the flavor?
Love the dishes but especially, the pug plate.
Random info: The sandwich is called a bikini in the Barcelona region and it’s called a “mixto” elsewhere (“bikini” maybe more widespread in Cataluña but I lived in the BCN region for two years and then Málaga for one). The club in question is in Barcelona! I’m not much of a club person so I never did get to it. I had to get my youngest to ask for a mixto whenever we traveled. He still thinks of a grilled ham and cheese as a bikini though.
I miss Spain something fierce. We want to go back but there’s a lot that needs to happen. Your post made me… homesick? I need a word for that feeling.
Spain is on our bucket list.
It ALL looks and sounds delicious!
It’s nice you can afford to eat exotic food,,,but I’m a simple soul,,,a rare steak, baked ‘tater and a salad is all I need…
