Just finished the Dark Matter season 3 finale – and I’m angry all over again.  I’m going to start working on a pitch for the miniseries and will look to take it out in August.  I’ll keep you posted.

Meanwhile, on the home front…

  3. I hope you keep trying! A miniseries would be great, and not mutually exclusive with continuing to post Virtual Seasons if you want since they would still represent “what if”. I’ll start boiling if I think about the cancellation too long and hard. Someone out there has to be willing to listen to reason, you’d think.

    I hope that both the miniseries and the Virtual Seasons would include One, but I hope I haven’t jinxed the possibility of that being true by saying that. I mention him a lot and it’s not even that I think he’s “the best character” but that I think the Raza as a whole and intact family is “the best character” and they all added something unique. Knowing that it was network interference makes me angry. The reason Game of Thrones’ major character deaths worked (in the early seasons, when they were following the books) was that they were planned for. An exec can’t just decide to kill off any given show’s first-billed character ala Ned Stark and automatically imitate GoT’s success. As TV Tropes says, Tropes Are Not (inherently) Bad, but also Tropes (in this case, Anyone Can Die) Are Not (inherently) Good.

    There’s still a lot of love for Dark Matter in multiple corners of Internet fandom all these years later. Just the other day I pitched a fanfic prompt on Tumblr (the Android throws the crew – One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six and herself – a surprise birthday party on the anniversary of their awakening) and already there’s been a fic made from it on Archive of Our Own (my prompt specifically says as many writers as want to run with it are encouraged to do so, so fanfic writers feel free to grab!).

  4. A few years ago, I had the best Calamari Steak at this tapa bar on Amelia Island called España Restaurant. No, I’d rather skip the parm sauce and have it like Espana’s. It was grilled, if I remember correctly.

    Did you get your smash burgers? I’d take a cheat day from my vegetarian diet for those. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any smash burger places around me. 🙁

  8. Hi, I finished Dark Matter season 3 right away and all I can say I loved the crew of Raza and would want to see them again. I am extremely disappointed on why this show was canceled?? We can sign petitions or even do crowdfunding to get that show up running again. Please do something and get that show back again. Thank you.

    1. Welcome aboard the Raza. I’m currently working on a pitch for a miniseries to wrap up our story. Hopefully, Netflix is interested.
