Well, it was touch and go there for a while as it seemed that my Snow Monkeys were poised to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, but Big Ben, Diontae, and the Steelers D did just enough to help us eke out a nailbiting triumph.  But it doesn’t get any easier for my Snow Monkeys as, next week, we play for all the marbles in the League of Our Own final.  Who do I start?  And who do I sit?  These are just a few of the questions I’ll be throwing your way in the days to come as I attempt to secure my first championship in years.  We got this!

YEAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!

Meanwhile, slow if not quite steady progress on the Project F pilot.  I aim to forge ahead this week with the aim of delivering a first draft mid-January.  I really need to pick up the pace to stay ahead of a looming perfect storm.  February is going to be crazy.

I’m compiling a list of my favorite things across various categories (reads, shows, etc.) for 2020 and, honestly, having a hard time.  Have I really become that much more selective?  Or maybe cranky?

Did you miss yesterday’s Dark Matter Episode 12 chat with the gang at Orville Nation and special guest Ivon Bartok?  Well, fear not.  We have you covered!

Tonight, I’ll be joining the Legion of Substitute Podcasters to talk sci-fi, Stargate, Dark Matter and, of course, The Legion of Super-Heroes!

  1. WOW WOW WOW SNOW MONKEYS FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT !!!!!

It’s nice to see Ivon Bartok out of his cave and hear update about his killer cat … Sure sounds just like how my friend’s cat treat me. LOL.

  2. For those who are into NBA basketball: The Toronto Raptors are scheduled to play the Spurs here in San Antonio on the 26th (Boxing Day).

Me? I’m not interested unless the Spurs are in the semi-finals.

  3. Sounds like a busy new year, for sure! But I’m gonna go ahead and predict that 2021 will see at least the go-ahead on TimEscape and there will be an out-of-the-blue commitment for a Dark Matter eight part mini-series to close out the story. I mean, it could happen!

Good to see Ivon out and about. Is he still on Twitter? I haven’t seen anything from him for ages.

  4. One thing that I have been doing is discovering the ‘joys’ of 1980s slasher films of various quality over the past few months(Pieces, Slaughter High, The Initiation, Class of 1984, the Sleepaway Camp franchise, Final Exam, Hell Night, the Bloody Murder duo…all from TubiTV). I never really got into them in the past, though I loved ‘Halloween’ for it’s superb direction. But lately I’ve just found them just amusing and in a lighted room, not really scary. Well except for the fashions, which I’m loathe to think were pretty snazzy at the time!

  5. Congratulations, though I forgot they were playing football. I only watch sci fi and comedy specials. My new fave film is Archenemy, its flawed superhero plot felt like a chapter out of Masked. I’ve been comparing Xmas dinner menu plans with family and friends, my menu is an imitation of a Panda Xpress bowl from an airport concourse: brown jasmine rice and boneless barbecue chicken with broccoli. I had a 30 minute dressing down from one sib on my omission of Christmas ham. Explaining that a giant spiral ham won’t fit in my tiny fridge fell on deaf ears.

  6. Snow Monkey, what pearly white fangs you have! You may just scare off your competition. 😉 As long as you don’t scare the snow off the blog! I miss it. 🙂

Tam, I’m missing hearing Christmas music in the stores! And seeing all the decorations, too! Especially this year, “We need a little Christmas, right this very minute… and Carols on the spinett (?).”

I like the classical Christmas Lessons & Carol, “Once in Royal David’s City…”
    Luciano Pavarotti’s O Holy Night
Whitney Houston’s Do You Hear What I Hear?
