Yeah! Sweet, sweet almost victory. My Snow Monkey are poised to wrap up a semifinal win tonight and move on to next week’s League of Our Own fantasy football championship final against the #2 ranked Alvin Mack. Down about 13 points heading into this evening’s game, my hopes rest with Ben Rothlisberger, his #1 receiver Diontae Johnson, and the #1 ranked Pittsburg Steelers defense. I am cautiously optimistic…
Hey, what are you doing later today? Here’s your answer…

We’ll be talking Dark Matter Episode 12 with special guest – Co-Executive Producer Ivon Bartok Should be fun!
How is everyone doing? How have your holiday plans changed? This year, I won’t be spending Christmas in Montreal with the family (for the first time ever) and will, instead, will stay home in Toronto with Akemi and Suji. We’ve ordered a roast duck dinner for Christmas Eve and will do our own this for Christmas Day. Meanwhile, it’s Canada Post doing the Santa honors this year. Akemi was thrilled to receive the following gift from mom, sis, and Daisy today…
As my sister pointed out, it really wouldn’t be Christmas for Akemi would seaweed snacks.
My buddy Robbie David was part of a Back to the Future Fan Remake that saw a multitude of fans each recreate a different scene from the film. Check Robbie out channeling George McFly…
And you can watch the entire movie here:
Well Joe, I have to disagree about the Steelers. I know you are rooting for them because you need points, but having grown up in Baltimore and being a Ravens fan, I loath the Steelers.
I will be alone on Christmas here in NYC as my Dad lives in FLA. He will at least be able to go to my sister’s though.
I plan on cooking a roast, garlic mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, and roasted asparagus.
I hope you and your family have a great Christmas even though you will not be able to visit your Mom and Sister.
See you at 5:30.
That’s a lot of nori … but I’m sure Akemi will finish devouring them in a day?
Speaking of fantasy football, curious, what happened to Ivon Bartok’s team? Aren’t you guys rival?
(I mean I am happy for your Snow Monkeys though …)
In fact, I’m about to beat Ivon’s team to advance to the finals.
Oh, those seaweed snacks are de-lish!
Good luck, Snow Monkeys — I don’t do fantasy football, but my real-life team (Denver Broncos) is doing horrible, having even experimented with having no quarterback at all! (Turns out that doesn’t work well. Who coulda guessed?)
Joe,
Sorry my Steelers sucked so badly for you tonight.
They played just well enough to get me through to the championship!
Ivon!!!!!!! Miss him, great to see and hear him chatting Dark Matter with you. Glad his cat is doing well. Hopefully his fantasy team is performing better than mine. In the old league, I tragically missed the playoffs for the first time in years and I’m in the consolation playoffs.
Congratulations on your Snow Monkeys, Joe.
Christmas in Toronto sounds nice too. Is your sister tech savvy so she could arrange a Skype/FaceTime with you so you can see her and your Mom?
I’ll be having Christmas lunch with Dad and Christmas Dinner with my Dad, Sister and family. We’re out of lockdown in Melbourne, but parts of Northern Sydney have an outbreak so there are border restrictions.
When I’m not doing Christmas stuff, I’ll be checking in on some online friends who are having tough times. Gotta look out for each other.
Wear a mask, stay safe and warm.
Cheers, Chev
That’s a lot of seaweed! Your family is very thoughtful.
When you think about it, this year has been an extended honeymoon for you and Akemi.
We’re staying home this year, also. We’ll work in movie watching and good food.
Chase Claypool doesn’t seem to be doing as well as he was at the beginning of the season. He is from Abbotsford, you probably know. He was a star at Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish.
