What do you say?
Chocolate-covered shrimp snacks make a comeback in Japan this winter
I am…dubious.
This is the type of instagram content I enjoy. This account belongs to a senior couple who post photos of them modeling clothes people don’t collect from their cry cleaning shop:

Opening the mailbag….
Natokanaru77 writes: “Need to recharge?”
Answer: That’s all I’ve been doing since January!
TamDixon writes: “What are you Thanksgiving plans?”
Answer: Well, being Canadian, we already celebrated our Thanksgiving in October with traditional tourtière and candied maple leaves. Hoping the best for Charlie!
Shawn Parrish writes: “Have you stopped getting comics weekly? You haven’t done a best covers post in a while.”
Answer: My reading has fallen off drastically this year, and that includes comics. But you’re right. I really should make it a point to resume my Best Covers Wednesday entry.

Answer: Well, report back. Akemi and I are do for a cleaning and are leery about heading back in to see the dentist. From what I hear, they’ve dispensed with the water pik but are still good to go with the enamel scratching.
Karen writes: “How’s the condo working out? You had some misgivings when you first bought it.”
Answer: It’s actually been pretty great. We’re well located, right in the heart of downtown, and our place is south facing meaning we get a lot of sun. We’re right next door to a park (perfect for Suji!) and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. I do miss having my own gym though.
TamDixon writes: “How’s your Mom?”
Answer: Mom’s leg is still sore, especially after shopping.
Chocolate covered shrimp? I’m also dubious. Those just don’t seem like two flavours that would go well together.
So, I went to the dentist today and got the temporary crown installed – all of which took over an hour and a half. It wasn’t really painful as they froze me up pretty well, but with all the COVID precaution equipment it seemed a bit intimidating at first. Like the thing that looks like an oxygen mask attached to an industrial vacuum cleaner which turned out to be some kind of suction device that winds up about 30 cm away from your face to pull up any of the spray from the water that the spray, etc. After that, it’s not so much painful as my gums are a bit sore from where they were working there. I do have to go back in three weeks to get the permanent one made after it comes back from the lab which I think is in HFX. They said for the temporary one to be very careful with food as it’s only in there with a temporary adhesive. So, sticky or crunchy stuff may make that thing pop right off!
So, overall, it wasn’t that bad. But, not my favourite way to spend a morning either.
Very cute senior couple IG account totally brightens up my day. Love.
Can I have one of each dessert? If I had to choose it would be a toss-up between doughnuts, frozen custard or key lime pie. Even though I don’t like fruit desserts or citrus I like key lime pie.
I’m glad you’re Mom is better.
Candied Maple leaves? Is that a cookie? Have you tried lightly coating bacon with maple syrup/pepper (before cooking) and baking it? I have cut way down on meat eating but maple pepper bacon always draws me to the dark side.
Thanks for the well wishes for Charlie. He’s on his way home now but this was rough on the poor little guy. I can’t imagine seeing my child go through this. Plus, this was just the first treatment. He has several weeks of this nightmare.

GForce:
I had two crowns put in 18 months ago (in the Before Time) and while the temporary crowns progressively hurt. Once my moulded crowns were in they were a bit tight at the beginning, my teeth adjusted position and I have had no problems with them since.
Joe:
I went to the dentist in May, for a cleaning and I felt perfectly safe going there. I just wanted them to do a health check rather than any water/’sand’ blasting or other appearance treatment. I heard there was a dispute between the Ontario Hygienists and Ontario Dentists Associations about protocols, but I’m sure they’ve resolved their differences by now.
