  1. Lovecraft Country has had its ups and downs but it has been well worth my time.

  2. The last show I really binged was Dark on Netflix. With all the time travel it can be confusing at first keeping track of who everyone is but at least the characters are interesting and complicated

  3. I rewatched The Sopranos last month and was surprised at how well it held up after all these years. So, that would be my vote.

  4. I haven’t watched any of “The Boys” yet but I’ve heard it’s good. I’m kinda over the whole superhero thing.

I’ve also heard good things about “Raised By Wolves” so that will probably be my next thing to watch. I’ve heard “Lovecraft Country” described as the “best thing on TV right now” from people I trust so that is also on the list.

As I said the other day, I’m currently in rewatch mode:

Buffy The Vampire Slayer – halfway through season 2
Babylon 5 – nearly at the end of season 2
    Max Headroom – just started
    Dark Matter – just started

I’m also partway through rewatches of “Stargate Atlantis” (season 4) and “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” (can’t remember) but they’ve fallen by the wayside for the other rewatches I’m doing. I have a short attention span.

  5. Lovecraft Country!

A very different look at the African American experience.

  6. I would say watch Upload if you are in the mood for a casual, fun watch. Check out Raised by Wolves if you are in the mood to be entertained but want to leave every episode with a question and ponder some stuff, and finally The Outsider is great pacing and suspense with a very solid cast (actually every one of these shows has great talent in front and behind the camera) it’s more of a question of what you are in the mood for.

  7. Binge Raised By Wolves. The season is done so you won’t have to wait to see more episodes. It is pretty. Well shot. I am not head over heels about all of the story but there is some very interesting stuff going on. And well Mother is kinda like an alternate version of our beloved Android.

  8. Succession for sure. Love that show! I just binged the final season of Schitt’s Creek.

  9. I am also currently binging The Boys Season 2 as well, only on Episode 2 right now.
I would recommend The Mandalorian Season 1 on Disney + before Season 2 returns on 10/30.
Or I would recommend Cursed Season 1 on Netflix.

  10. I love, Lovecraft Country. As far as Raised by Wolves goes I find it is not what I expected, put it this way every time I try to watch an episode I fall asleep 🤨

  11. I’ve not seen any of those so unfortunately I’m not in a position to help. I’m watching Eureka for the first time, currently on season 4.

  12. I definitely recommend Lovecraft country loving it I’m very interested in Raised by Wolves but I’m waiting for hbomax to get on my Roku cuz I’m not going to watch it on my cell phone.

  13. We are watching Vagabond (Korean) and loving it. Sort of Jason Bourne. Fast paced, international, high stakes drama with a dash of comedy and romance.

  14. Not on your list but since you’re finishing The Boys, you should definitely watch next The Expanse, with season 5 coming soon (December 16) on Amazon Prime Video. Great hardcore sci-fi that gets better every season. Hope the new Stargate series (hope it’s coming soon) is as good as The Expanse is!
    Season 5 Trailer:

  15. Having seen at least a portion of everything on the list except Kingdom, I’d go with Raised By Wolves. Very good. Not on your list though is Morning Show. Best thing I’ve seen since Chernobyl.

  16. Kingdom 1 and 2 are very good. In fact, I thought S2 was better than S1. As for other kdramas: Just finished Stranger 2 – sublime. Alice started strongly, but has hit the usual time travel dilemmas. Zombie Detective is okay – good in terms of using a different perspective – zombies scared of humans instead of the other way round.

Watching Code 404, a good laugh. Cobra Kai is quite good. Keep hoping for a really good sci-fi series to materialise. Upload might be next on the list 😊

  17. I’m savoring this season of The Boys and waiting for the next season of The Mandelorian to drop. If you’ve not seen it, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Right now I’m making my way through Greenleaf which is an Oprah Winfrey production about a Black megachurch in Memphis. I’m seriously thinking about getting HBO just to see Lovecraft Country. Can’t wait to hear what you decide.

  18. Lovecraft County. We are watching it as well. Crazy stuff going on and I want to go.

  19. I’m listening to the Expanse books on Audible. They are very good but they have spoiled me. I listen to the books and when I try to watch the series, it’s ruined for me. I know they can’t follow the books for financial or other reasons but some of the chances don’t make sense to me. The books are very diverse, so the characters don’t need to be changed. Oh well, the series is good on it’s own but if you’ve read the series, you might not like season two and onward.

Let us know what you decide and thanks for The Boys recommendation!

  20. I did not see this on your list but I will recommend it anyway, The Last Kingdom.

  21. Don’t know any of those shows on the list. So no advice on that front. Y’er on ye’r own, fella. As Taggart would say. (Did a Eureka rewatch a last month.) As for me…..dusting off Sanctuary.

  22. I’m rewatching the hurricane make landfall in SWLA. At least I think it’s a rerun.

  23. I’ve only watched Succession and it’s hillarious. The cast does a fantastic job.

I was going to start Dark Matter, that’s why I landed here, but always been a big fan of all things Stargate.

  24. I just started watching season one of The Boys last night. I’ve been watching Bosch and finished that last week. My current series are rewatching Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel. Also near to the end of Schitt’s Creek (I was late to the party). Being in the UK there are lots of ‘easy on the brain’ series I just dip into to fill an hour.. Father Brown, Shakespeare & Hathaway and Death in Paradise. Looking forward to Star Trek Discovery this weekend.

  25. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on Upload. I found the ideas in the near-future technology interesting, especially the printing of food and how it was illustrative of the income gap between those who could afford real food, and those that had to settle for printed food. Also the “consent” apps people used when dating.

  26. Have to add another comment here. Just discovered Ted Lasso on Apple. Hilarious! Talk about binging… I couldn’t stop watching. Without giving anything away, the final scene reminded me of the belch scene in Elf and the pick-up ride in Planes, Trains & Automobiles. Do not miss!
