The preliminary rounds have concluded and we finally have our eight seeds in the Stargate: Atlantis Greatest Episode Tournament as decided by YOU, the fans.
Here are your semi-final match-ups…
#8 The Siege Part 2 vs #1 Midway
A battle of action-driven heavyweights sees fan favorite and SG-1 crossover Midway square off against the BIG first season finale. It’s Ronon vs. Teal’c! Atlantis vs the wraith! Ships vs shoot ’em ups! Who you got?
#7 The Tao of Rodney vs #2 McKay and Mrs Miller
And in this match-up, it’s McKay vs McKay (and McKay and…McKay) as season 3 winner McKay and Mrs. Miller faces off against surprising wildcard entry The Tao of Rodney. My money is on Triple M, but who knows? Tao may be primed for another upset.
#6 The Siege Part 3 vs #3 The Shrine
You couldn’t ask for two more different episodes: Siege Part 3 an epic actioner, The Shrine a heartfelt character study. What are you in the mood for?
#5 Rising vs #4 Enemy at the Gate
It’s the episode that started it all against the episode that saw it end, Rising vs Enemy at the Gate. In terms of clashes, it doesn’t get much bigger than these two titans.
You know what I hate? Traveling. No matter how much time you have to prepare and pack, it’s never enough. And always, in the back of your mind, there’s that worry – you forgot something. More often than not, it’s unfounded but, occasionally, it does happen. Like that time I arrived at the airport only to realize I’d forgotten my passport back home. Hey, Jeff, remember that one?
Anyway, everything seems pretty much set (with the minor exception of my schedule, but we presumably have time to figure that out). Tonight we drop the dogs off with the dog-sitter and tomorrow morning we are westward bound.
I have 36 hours to get this pitch down. And prep a back pocket pitch.
This trip should be…interesting.
