The preliminary rounds have concluded and we finally have our eight seeds in the Stargate: Atlantis Greatest Episode Tournament as decided by YOU, the fans.
Here are your semi-final match-ups…
#8 The Siege Part 2 vs #1 Midway
A battle of action-driven heavyweights sees fan favorite and SG-1 crossover Midway square off against the BIG first season finale. It’s Ronon vs. Teal’c! Atlantis vs the wraith! Ships vs shoot ’em ups! Who you got?
#7 The Tao of Rodney vs #2 McKay and Mrs Miller
And in this match-up, it’s McKay vs McKay (and McKay and…McKay) as season 3 winner McKay and Mrs. Miller faces off against surprising wildcard entry The Tao of Rodney. My money is on Triple M, but who knows? Tao may be primed for another upset.
#6 The Siege Part 3 vs #3 The Shrine
You couldn’t ask for two more different episodes: Siege Part 3 an epic actioner, The Shrine a heartfelt character study. What are you in the mood for?
#5 Rising vs #4 Enemy at the Gate
It’s the episode that started it all against the episode that saw it end, Rising vs Enemy at the Gate. In terms of clashes, it doesn’t get much bigger than these two titans.
You know what I hate? Traveling. No matter how much time you have to prepare and pack, it’s never enough. And always, in the back of your mind, there’s that worry – you forgot something. More often than not, it’s unfounded but, occasionally, it does happen. Like that time I arrived at the airport only to realize I’d forgotten my passport back home. Hey, Jeff, remember that one?
Anyway, everything seems pretty much set (with the minor exception of my schedule, but we presumably have time to figure that out). Tonight we drop the dogs off with the dog-sitter and tomorrow morning we are westward bound.
I have 36 hours to get this pitch down. And prep a back pocket pitch.
This trip should be…interesting.
Good luck with the pitching and have a great trip.
For travel, I just make sure I have my passport and cash/credit card. So if I forget anything, I can buy them.
You already have whatever you need, you are worth it, and best of luck! Hopefully there are good people on the other side who appreciate your work. Cheers!
So wishing you the best in pitching to the powers that be. You always have great ideas, I just hope they truly listen. And for a food break, as someone else suggested, try the French dips at Philippe’s – it’s an LA thing.
Bon voyage and all the best with the pitch!
I’m having a meltdown trying to make these decisions. Love all your eps. Love all the cast members. Love the sets and all the mean aliens too. The writing and art direction are superior. I saw Ad Astra. So disappointed you should have written and directed it!!
Wait–
How is Duet not in the competition?!
Wishing you the best of luck with the pitches.
Wishing your Mum a continued wonderful recovery.
And the wedding…..???
@Joe:
Sure do, but you’re right…it happens to all of us. If it makes you feel any better, I left my tablet in the hotel room in Germany last week. I’ve been negotiating with the hotel all week to get it shipped to me, and despite setting up the shipping payment, it still hasn’t shipped.
And now a demo shipment that was supposed to arrive on Friday and go out again on Tuesday has been delayed by customs and FedEx email system failures (long story). So now I’m going to spend all day tomorrow re-creating a demo that is stuck somewhere in customs-limbo-land.
I really hate shipping companies right now. 😉
I am a slacker. Didn’t get a chance to vote earlier. Not sure that any I would have picked are here. Common Ground would have been my ultimate choice, but…alas…I missed out. I sucketh.
