So, for some reason I assumed yesterday was today and ended up posting Suji Sunday a day early.  To tide you over until next week, here is a pic of Suji being lazy.  Full disclosure – it was actually taken yesterday.

Add the above to the ever-growing list of Akemi-isms.

As I aim to be in L.A. the final week of September, I really need to nail down my dining destinations.  This one is already at the top of the list…

Tonight marks the kick-off of the 2019 Fantasy Football season – much to Akemi’s chagrin.  I’ll be managing my Snow Monkeys in two leagues and, of course, plan to win both.  Unfortunately, I’ve been too busy to do any pre-season research, so if you have any hot takes before 8:30 p.m., let’s hear’ em!

  1. I love that Akemi’s t-shirt behind Suji also says, “So lazy..”

Those ice cream sandwiches look okay, I guess, but they only serve to remind me of the ones at Beta5 in Vancouver, to which I’ve yet to taste an equal.

Those Snow Monkeys are looking pretty sad. I hope that’s not a harbinger of things to come! I don’t know much about the footsball, so I’m of little help there.

  2. I’m about as informed as you on the fantasy football draft, but my situation is not as dire as yours as my team’s draft (Arundel’s Revenge) is not until Sept. 4th. Time to hit the stats!

  3. I don’t know if that one (darling) picture of Suji and her mom is going to tide me over till next Sunday. It might last to Thursday but I’m going to need a booster shot sometime during this week.

  4. Oh and you’ll be happy to know that my mom said today she thought it was Saturday, and she said yesterday felt like Sunday . . . like you. But then, she’s 94 years old.

  5. AHH,, love Suji Sunday, any day. and those macarons,, how can you eat the ice cream and cookies before it melts,,, yum,, I would certainly try my best,, thanks for the share. The snow monkey eyes are trying to hypnotize,…… good luck with your game.

  6. You’re getting to be a good photographer. Love the pictures! What camera do you use?

If you’re losing track of the days, does that mean the trip was a success?

On to things that aren’t my business…. How are the wedding plans? Dealing with Dr.Jo’s illness has made the look at the legal aspects of life. Is Akemi protected, in case something happens to you? Unfortunately, you have to think about possibilities. You want all your ladies taken care of. Just something to ponder.

On the bright side, the house closing for Dr. Jo’s house to my son is set for this Thursday. Virginia still has a lot of stuff in the house and an estate sale can’t be scheduled until mid September. We wanted to make it easy for her and not rush. Meanwhile, after the closing, I’m going to start scheduling basic repairs. We can work around all the items. It’s a bittersweet time. Virginia says that we have to think with our heads and not our hearts. I’m just going to focus on getting the house back up and running.

I’m sorry to be a downer but my mind is whirling with tasks.

I hope you have a great time, with wonderful food and good friends!

    1. @TamDixon: Wow! I didn’t know this was going on. Good luck with the house. If it is one thing I learned having Patrick was we DEFINITELY needed to think with our heads and not our hearts. If we thought with our hearts, he’d still be here living with us. We had to let go and let him adjust for this next phase of life so that he is settled while we age and eventually die. And yes, we had to figure out the finances too so that he is protected and the amounts doesn’t kick him out of his programs by putting any money left of our estate after we both die to a special needs trust for him.

  7. I’m a few days late.
    – That was the coolest R2-D2 I’ve ever seen! Thanks for sharing.
    – Chocolate? Yes please.
    – Ice cream cookies? Mmmmmm.
    – Aww, Suji!

  8. Oh yeah…and the new Akemi-ism? Hahahahaha! Although I must admit, her English is better than my Japanese. Mostly because I don’t speak a lick of Japanese.

  9. Akemi’s shirt matches Suji’s mood. Epic. Akemisms are still so funny. Don’t have any thoughts on the Fantasy Football league. I know nothing about the real football league.
