  1. I still rate SG1 ‘Bad Guys’ as one of the best things I’ve seen on terrestrial episodic television. It’s a heist gone wrong drama… Technically that’s crime fiction!?!

  2. “GRAMMAR COP”

Senior citizen, who aced her SAT English in the 1970s, investigates serial assaults on grammar, punctuation , spelling, and word usage.

Is English in transition, are old standards dying out, or are norms being deliberately murdered?

Are languages around the globe also victims of the Autocorrect Gremlin?

Will regional accents go missing in the 22nd Century?

    1. I thought I proofread that post, but I see typing errors. 🥺

  3. And then there’s POOLMAN, which opened in San Antonio today.
    ——-
In Chris Pine’s feature directorial debut, Poolman tells the story of Darren Barrenman (Pine), a native Angeleno who spends his days looking after the pool of the Tahitian Tiki apartment block and fighting to make his hometown a better place to live. When he is tasked by a femme fatale to uncover the truth behind a shady business deal, Darren enlists the help of friends to take on a corrupt politician and a greedy land developer. His investigation reveals a hidden truth about his beloved city and himself. The film also stars Annette Bening, Danny DeVito, Jennifer Jason Leigh, DeWanda Wise, Stephen Tobolowsky, John Ortiz and Ray Wise.

What the heck is going on here. I smell a law suit over a show title. There is a new show called Dark Matter.

      Yes. Unfortunately, that’s allowed.

  5. A grizzled, cynical, alcoholic detective is forced to team up with his rookie cop son to investigate the killing of his estranged wife (and son’s mother) even though it’s a clear conflict of interest. Episodes 1-3 are mostly filler where we learn about the two main characters and detailed life histories of all the secondary characters that are not important to the plot. Episode 4 should end on a cliffhanger. Episode 5 should be entirely a flashback story showing the events that led up to the murder without actually providing any useful information about it. Absolutely DO NOT resolve the cliffhanger from episode 4! Episode 7 should be all about family with lots of crying. Episode 8 solve the murder using information discovered off screen that the audience had no way of finding out.
