May 12, 2017: A Diverse Update!

I’m doubly pleased to report that Suji is on the mend following a quick out-patient procedure to remove to suspicious lumps – both of which came back as non-cancerous growths.  She celebrated the news by kicking back and spending the afternoon with her new best friend, Pinky Cactuscadero.

Spent the last two days in Montreal visiting with mom.  On the menu: crab mousse, hot pepper, rack of lamb, Smoke Meat Pete’s, cream puffs, and an afternoon’s fruitless attempts to order her a Dyson vacuum cleaner!

Me and mademoiselle.  Mom was predictably less than enamored of the scruffy look.  “There’s a razor and shaving cream upstairs,”she informed me as I stepped in the door.

Our Aurevoir Tour continues with a fond farewell to my very favorite network exec of all time, Gosia Kamela, over one of my very favorite desserts of all time – the sticky toffee pudding at Nota Bene:

I miss them both already!

A shout-out to my friends, editor Wendy Hallam-Martin and actress Amanda Brugel, for their terrific work on The Handmaid’s Tale.  Two episodes in and I’m hooked!

A toast!  To my final Dark Matter-related duty here in Toronto = the mix for Episode 304 (“All The Time In The World”).

THREE asking for all sorts of trouble, messing with Solara’s breakfast.  It’s a downright loopy episode.

  1. Whoa. You kinda look like Neegan from TWD. That’s all I’ll say about that!

Isn’t 304 the crazy time looping episode? I can’t wait to see it! Anthony looks awesome as usual. I’m totally hooked on “A Handmaid’s Tale” as well. Great story and a bit scarily possible.

Suji is looking great! Glad to hear that her procedure went well and it was nothing too serious.

  2. Your mom looks wonderful! The cream puffs look pretty good too. Yum!

Amazon’s my go-to-place for shipping my mom a present. Your Mom probably enjoyed the visit (fur and all) more than receiving a gift anyway.

Sounds like life is treating you right this week. Glad you had a good time and thanks for the Suji update too!

I haven’t watched “A Handmaid’s Tale” but I read the book in high school. It was haunting. It’s been (just a few 😉 ) years ago and I still remember the chill it gave me.

  3. I love that my husband can have so many different looks. My mother-in-law is quite prone to those cutting comments when it comes to certain lengths of facial hair.

  4. Yay!
So glad to hear the ‘indestructible Captain Scarlett’ Suji’s news! Hope Akemi is feeling much better too.
Aww, your Mum is magic. It’s good to see her again 😊

And Three. What a charmer! Can’t wait to see what he gets up to in Season 3. E304 – Hmm, that sounds a bit of a groundhog day episode. Is that why Three is pushing his luck with Solara?

Read The Handmaid’s Tale years ago when it was scary fiction. Now, it seems … not quite so … fictional.

  5. Hi Mom!

Haven’t tried Handmaid yet; on the list for maybe over the summer. I am, although, starting The Twelve Lives of Samuel Hawkins this weekend.

  6. I know I’ve teased you about the grey and the gruff look in the past – but something’s different this time.
I dont know … Cant quite put my finger on it ….

It’s actually becoming … and even a charming, sexy look for ya now.

Of course…. it helps you are holding the adorable Suji in the photo, eh.
    So that could be it.

Hope you had a good visit with your your mom.

Safe flight Sunday for you and the girls.

  7. Damn! I used to live between James Dyson’s country estate and the Dyson head office. I could have flagged down his Ferrari and ordered a vacuum cleaner for you directly! 🙂

I’m digging the scruffy look. It reminds me of me… Can’t stand shaving but hate having a beard so I usually end up half way for most of the time.

  8. Yay, “food and more food piled up in great big plates” to quote Elizabeth Gaskell. So nice to see the beautiful Mrs. Mallozzi!

Handmaid is a fave book, I’m obsessed with the Hulu version, some amazing actors on it, who know Yvonne Strahovski could be such a fascinating monster.

  9. Glad Suji’s growths were benign. The dessert looks amazing. So do your mom’s cream puffs. Your mom never ages. Actually like the facial hair on you. Part of my marriage agreement with Jeff was only a 5 o’clock shadow. Just a thing for me during a kissing process. I’ve heard excellent things about A Handmaid’s Tale. There is just too many great things to watch out there and not enough time for me to get to them all.
