We received the retouched selects from our family photo session at Off Leash Studio.  Some great shots of 11 year old Suji, 9 year old Lulu and, of course 14.5 year old Bubba taken the week before he passed away.

  1. Yay! Love each and every one of these photos 😃
Nobody could wear Hawaiian shirts like Bubba. And he always rocked bow ties too.
I’m so glad your photographer was able to capture each pup’s personality.
Thanks so much for sharing with us… 🐾

  2. Wow those are fantastic pictures! Bubby looks so good. All the kids look good. Love, love, love the “Rare Family Pic”. Akemi is so beautiful in that one.

  3. Awwwwwwww! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

    Loving all the pics!
As adorable as Bubba n Suji are, Lulu managed to steal the show in this one with her priceless "whatever".

You should use one of those free online card makers to make a card to print for your mom with the whole family portrait.
Mothers day is only a month away.

  4. @Tam Dixon on the shower re-tile:

First of all, good luck; you’ll be glad you did this!

I’ve been through this with our “builder’s bathroom special” in our master bath and I’ll likely have to do this to our kid’s bathroom this fall. Beyond the obvious stuff like ripping out any moisture sensitive materials like common wallboard (and did I see cardboard shims in Jerry’s Facebook comments?!?), I recommend using cement-board as a base for the tile and also using a moisture barrier on top of that (if for nothing more than “sleep at night piece of mind”). If you’re doing your own basin as well, make sure the moisture barrier continues down into the basin with no gaps and plenty of overlaps.

Good luck again, and please post pictures.

  5. @Joe and Akemi:

Barb and I are so impressed with how your pictures turned out! Seeing Bubba brought (happy) tears to our eyes, and all the pups looked great.

Now we’re thinking of doing a set later this summer with our Huskies, Lucy and Lancer, and the rest of the family. It’ll make for a great keepsake. Thanks for giving us the idea; we’ll post the pictures when they’re done.

  6. Thanks JeffW, that sounds like good advice! My next step is to get my plumber friend out here to give the drain a looksee. Then I’m going to clean and repair the concrete damage to the slab (around the drain). My hubby wants to do a pre-slope. Opinions?

Mr. M. and Akemi: Those were wonderful pictures! You said the pups were comfortable with the photographer and it shows. They were really hamming it up. Thanks for sharing these with us! Bubba looks so happy/healthy. Brings tears to my eyes. 🙁

  7. @Tam good luck with the bathroom renovation.
I’m sure it’ll turn out great!
How’s Dr Jo doing these days?

    @TheOtherOne Birthday hugs for Puddle.
Sounds like he had an awesome day.

@Duptiang More Hugs, Hope, Ear rubs & Tummy rubs
    for your continuing improvement.

  8. Bubba was a rock star! A natural for the camera. Lulu just seems to be over the whole thing. Suji…goes without saying. Love the family photo!

  9. The blue background brings out Lulu’s eyes, these are great pics of the gang. Thank you for sharing them with us.

  10. Love, love, love, love, love, love all these pictures. I notice how Akemi’s looking at Bubba and not you. Awwwwww. Poor Akemi. She must miss him so much (oh boy, there goes the tears again). And you, Joe, have Lulu’s pose in that one — looking into the future.

@JeffW That’s good advice. We aren’t going to be doing ours ourselves (My Jeff still hasn’t finished 3-year-old projects yet). But it is good to know to ask when it does happen.

  11. These pics are amazingly adorable! I’ve been absent for a bit so this is the first I’m seeing of Bubba’s passing. My condolences on your loss.
