January 28, 2017: Dark Matter Season 3 – Day 42 Of 91!

No, seriously.  I realize today was Saturday, but we were on set anyway, shooting 2nd unit Day #1 of our latest episode under the direction of the wonderful Gail Harvey.  Anthony Lemke (THREE) made it all worthwhile by surprising us with three boxes of donuts!

Jodelle Ferland (FIVE) was gunning for trouble on a day that featured not one but two surprise take-downs, some emotional farewells, and a surprising kiss.

Zoie Palmer has director Gail Harvey in a headlock.  It’s Zoie’s signature move, second only to her finishing move: The Dragon Screw Neck Whip.

Huzzah!  I finally broke through that top-of-third-act writer’s block thanks to: 1) Script Coordinator Alison Hepburn’s input and 2) The news that Paul wouldn’t be able to take over and the script preps in a little over a week.  If we’re describing Episode 304 as “bananas”, then I suppose this one can be termed “coconuts”.

Tomorrow = A day off! I’ll spend it running errands, writing that script, and trying to figure out how to pay this tax instalment.

Meanwhile, back on the home front…

    Who was it?? Who would be a surprise?? Or, did it just happen at a surprising time?? Who could it be?? Five kissing someone?? The Android kissing someone would be a surprise, I guess. Hmmmmm….?

    Gotta love people that bring donuts! Noticed you spelled it the new way and not “doughnuts”. Not sure when the new spelling happened but I like it.

    I hope the pups let you sleep late today and not pee/puke on the bed.

    I was hoping to have a fun weekend but right now, I have a date with an ice pack. 😉

    Empathizing with you, Joe, with your tax payments….. I asked if I could pay in instalments. When they said yes, I felt like I had just lost 2stone in weight and had learnt free running parkour from Fred Astaire! Such a wonderful relief…..

    The only thing worse than taking a bite of a donut and putting it back is poking a hole in each of the donuts to “claim” them or to determine what the jelly/cream inside is. Sadly no Tim Horton’s in this area. That was awful nice of Anthony!

    Gail looks like she is having a good time. Five looks ready to take on any and everyone with a smile!
