“Stuff To Steal, People To Kill” is one of my top two favorite episodes of Dark Matter’s second season.  It combines many of the things I love: humor, high stakes, character insights, surprising reveals, and long overdue payoffs (a couple stretching as far back as our very first episode!).  It’s pretty bananas and a lot of fun!

“This was a great episode, which revealed a lot about Reynaud and her interest in the Raza. I also liked the fact that Nyx’s former crew members make another appearance near the end of the story. Things look like they could be about to get interesting for the last few episodes of this second season…” by Ian Cullen at SciFi Pulse

  1. Hi Joe
Damn! The sneak peek video is US only.
I wonder, does Tunnel Bear works with Chromium on Linux? Hmmm…

  2. Hi Joe
Well, what do you know. Tunnel Bear works,
Looks like this weeks episode is going to be my new fav. You’ve got my attention, Joe!

  3. Not gonna make it through all the links tonight but enjoyed the ones I watched and read.

I have previously forgotten to comment on 3 of my favorite interactions from last week’s show. First is the Android’s reaction to Three’s “snug” suit for his Transfer Transit trip. Priceless! Do I detect a bit of The Android crushing on Three – now wouldn’t that be interesting! Second is the interaction between Android and Tabor while monitoring the pods – that entire dialogue, the Android advancing on Tabor and his obvious discomfort. Third is the shoot out with Three & Four tossing the single gun back and forth while fending off the guards. Classic when Four tells Three that Five is gone already then … Zing!

Really looking forward to this week’s episode – great title by the way. Have a great Wednesday! Hump Day!

  4. Argh! I’ve been wanting to go back through the season and watch the episodes again, but the “On Demand” channel for SyFy through my cable company only has episodes 203 and 204. What the heck? Does SyFy determine what previous episodes can air and for how long? If so, then this sucks. I was planning to binge watch this weekend.

At the beginning of the season, I felt like DM was going to be like getting on a fast train and comfortably enjoying the ride. I didn’t even get into the cabin before it took off and I’ve been hanging on to the door and flapping around like a cartoon character on a antenna ever since. Shockingly, it seems every week someone from the show gets flung off the train to their doom. So, no spoilers for me.

Another bloody fire started here today in SoCal, and more people tonight are losing their homes. My friend in Lake Isabella didn’t lose her personal home, but one of her rental properties burned to the ground, and the family living there barely got out with their lives. They lost everything, and had no insurance. These photos are stunning images of what happened at the Lake back in June: http://abc7.com/news/deadly-erskine-fire-chars-35711-acres-150-homes/1401422/

And my heart goes out to all the folks suffering from the flooding back east. It’s so terrible to see people’s lives devastated by these tragic events.

  5. Enjoying reading the reviews, but I couldn’t get a couple of the links to work for me (SciFi Pulse and The Digital Fix).
And sadly, geo-blocking (as usual) by SyFy prevents accessing the wardrobe bts video!

Ep 8 and we find out – why did Android attack the crew when she was first activated in the premiere episode of Season 1? 🤔

  6. Oow. ‘Stuff to steal, people to kill’ sounds very, very intriguing….

    Hey @Elminster
‘Tunnel Bear with Chromium on linux’ is that like the Convoy song crossed with a Marvel character on drugs? Just asking…

  7. @Maggie L80 and any interested in Dark Matter at Dragon Con.

Only excerpt is for Friday – not clear who or what is presenting.
BUT…since it is in the Marriott it is a “big” thing.

Betrayal, mystery, conspiracy and danger are around every corner of this new Syfy show. The crew of the Raza are notorious and maybe, just maybe they will let you come along for a short hop across the universe.

  8. OOooh! Looks like a time travel ep. Devon, you may survive yet!

Also, looks like the Blink Drive is one of those technologies that has some bad side effect that makes using it in the future inadvisable. Well, darn!

    Can’t wait for the ep!

  9. I forgot about the “snug” comment. We enjoyed that, too. I think the Hair Awards was on target. Even though I would have voted for Android if open voting was allowed, the point about the hair for the character that would be a bride favorite was true and that does hold a lot of weight.

@Paloosa That is so terrible about your friend. I know a few people in the affected area of Louisiana but fortunately they are okay. A local person was taking a truck to Denham Springs this weekend and was asking for donations (especially of bleach, laundry detergent, etc.) and I loaded my car with laundry detergent purchases and brought them over. I always prefer to do something directly for people because I’ve been so disappointed with most national charities. Seems very little actually helps the people who need it. That was us in April and May (twice in May); Not “us” as in me outside of some property damage from lightning and a wind downburst from a tornado cell, and localized flooding that went away when the rain stopped but all those poor people downstream who were flooded for weeks upon weeks. I don’t understand why people don’t invest in flood insurance. My premium is not very high on a yearly basis and my entire house and contents are covered. If you don’t have flood insurance, FEMA will just give up a loan up to $30,000-40,000 I think but you have to pay that back. I heard only 11% of the people affected in Louisiana had flood insurance. After our 1994 flooding, when we were almost evacuated (when our creek was 30 feet above flood stage) that is when we purchased. We were told when we bought we were in a 100-year flood plain. We thought that sounded really good without really understanding what that meant. And let’s not forget Mississippi and a bit of Florida were affected, too. People forget them like they did during Hurricane Katrina.
