December 29, 2014: This Blog’s 2014 Year In Review!

gforce, welcome to the Top 5!  Impressive, but I nevertheless expect you to improve on your 278 comments in 2015, especially with the Dark Matter poised for a summer premiere!

December 29, 2014: This Blog’s 2014 Year In Review!

Randomness, never the bride or the bridesmaid or the sister of the bridesmaid but always the sister of the bridesmaid’s best friend.  Your second year in a row at the #4 spot!  Still, a great effort.

December 29, 2014: This Blog’s 2014 Year In Review!

Ponytail, congrats for taking the #3 position for the second year in a row!  Your commenting has tailed off a little from last year so I’m going to need you to set aside at least one hobby and focus more on goings on here on the blog.

December 29, 2014: This Blog’s 2014 Year In Review!

Tam Dixon, after climbing from #3 to #2 last year, you managed to make a run at the #1 spot – but still came up short.  Still, very well done.  And there’s always 2015!

And now, for the #1 commenter of 2014…

And STILL CHAMPION – three years running!

December 29, 2014: This Blog’s 2014 Year In Review!

  1. Congratulations, Das!! I think. 😉

But be forewarned, I’m already training, getting my fingers in extra special shape for a run at the title.

    Me, this coming year!!!

  2. Congrats Das! Big Thanks to Mr M. for creating this community!!!!

When do y’all head back to Toronto?

  3. Congrats. I like to think of mine as quality not quantity. What about the crazy search results? You know I love them.

    Best wishes with Dark Matter.

    Cheers, Chev

  4. Hey I’m in 4th again this year too. I’m like that Amazing Race team that’s stable in all of their placements while watching from the background as people check-in way before me 🙂

  5. @gforce

You were so close to fourth this year. Just 2 posts behind. I’m sure you’ll get it in 2015, I’ll take 5th for a change.

  6. No, no, no. You MUST have counted wrong!! I hardly posted this year – both on purpose (to give others a chance at #1) and just because real life has been – a real pain in the arse. 😛

    Mebbe I’m sleep-posting or something. 😛

(I should be gettin’ paid for this! 😉 )

  7. Smacks gforce with a cannoli for posting 4 times already. Pttthfff at gforce. Yeah, I’m not even close again this year. I am, however, posting as two people – @ArcticGoddess1 and Patricia Bertrand. My fault, my fault. Computers and I do not like each other. If I needed to fix a computer problem to save my life, I’d have to bow and accept my doom. But since I see death as the next great adventure, that really isn’t the biggest punishment for me.

Anyway, congrats to the top 5 – you blabbermouths! Am I jealous? Am I? You bet your sweet baklava, I am.

Ah, well. Another day, another opportunity.

  8. Er-r-r, okay, so I’m maybe way down on that list, way, way down… BUT! When I do post, it is usually worthwhile. Um…ahem [coughs politely].

Today is the last of five days off from work, and sadly, tomorrow marks my return. Boo!

Basil cat says to type hello. [She’s sitting halfway across my keyboard, so I suppose I should…] “Hello blog folks!”, says Basil cat =^-^=

Congratulations to all the heavy hitters and a special thank you to Joe who has so wonderfully taken of his time and given great efforts to keep this community available, interesting and unique for all of us. I’m looking forward to many behind the scenes info about Dark Matter goings on.

See, wasn’t that an uplifting post?

  9. Congratulations das, tam, ponytail, randomness and gforce for being the top 5 posters. Keep up the good work. 😀

  10. Congrats to all the winners! Way to go Team Joe and Akemi and Bubba and Jelly and Lulu!

  11. Congrats on 2989 posts! And congrats to Das and all the other top fivers! I’m still hooked here, and have finally caught up with all the blogs, but not all the comments like I use to. Which is a bummer, since they usually make me laugh (a lot!), or hungry. Hey – any chance that a recipe book could be put together with everyone’s favorites? It would make a great yearly Holiday gift!

We’re on hiatus this week, and man do I need it. Between all the aches and pains, growing old really wears you out. My goal this week is to sleep till 9:00 am every morning.

I’m really looking forward to Dark Matter!! 2015 will be a great year!

  12. “Randomness, never the bride or the bridesmaid or the sister of the bridesmaid but always the sister of the bridesmaid’s best friend.”
    Say what??

    Congratulations to Das…yada, yada, yada…

Ok, look… Come on gforce!, Randomness!, Tam Dixon!, we can take her!!! We can band together and bet that Das!! If we just comment twice per day, we can overthrow Das!! We can bring her down!! Who’s with us?!! Hey Sparrow_hawk, JeffW, DP, Deni! Join us! We don’t have to take this year after year!! We can do it!!! We can win once!!!! 😈

(she’s not looking at me, is she?) 😯

  13. Yes, Ponytail, yes! Overthrow me! Become the champions of Joe’s blogdom! Steal my crown!! Seize my scepter! Be the victors of 2015!!

    Do it!

In the immortal words of pg15:

    If you dare… 😈

  14. @ Das – Well, I agree, Joe must not know how to count, but don’t stop posting. You need us; We need you. Keep posting and we will beat you fair and square! Come on everybody!! Post daily. Twice! 😉

  15. @Ponytail:

I thought of all sort of excuses, but at the end of the day, they’re just excuses after all. The real problem is that I’ve been so busy lately that I find that my mind turns off when I have a moment to myself (yep, another excuse). That and I’ve had some end of year projects to deal with that have soaked up ALL of my time.

Maybe I can do three a day in February to make up the difference?

In case I don’t get to it on Thursday, Happy New Year in advance everyone!

  16. Joe, I made several pounds of delectable fudge which I sent far and wide and was universally appreciated. About as easy a humanly possible. 3 cups semisweet chips, 1 can sweetened commended milk, 4 tablespoons butter, 1/8 teaspoon salt, microwave for ONE minute, stir in 1,teaspoon vanilla. Pour into an 8 x 8 wax paper lined pan’ chill three hours and cut.7

  17. I’ve been thinking lately the blog post I wrote for your Birthday a few(?) years ago, ‘This Is Your Blog’s Life’ needs updating.
Congratulations on another year of daily blogging. It’s nice to drop in when I get a chance to catch up on happenings and reading up on what long time commenters (many whom have become great friends) have been up to in more than 140 characters.
Hope it’s a great 2015 for you Joe and all the gang here.

PS: Our company has a comedy skit it produces for the annual get together. I’m on the script and production team this year. Plus I’m the onscreen character that will be found working in all the tiny spaces of our office. There’s about 50 of us involved. I was laughing at using in meetings, some of the terminology I’ve learnt through your blog posts about production. Never thought I’d need to ever use what I’d learnt here as a software programmer, but thanks!

  18. I certainly started off the year with the intention of commenting on every blog post. 365 comments is a shoe in for third place! Alas, by the second half of the year I had lost my mojo.

    Next year I’ll try better!

    Congrats to the . . . erm . . . winners?

  19. I too love cannoli, much to the regret of my hips. My grandniece can hoover down 3 cannoli’s before anyone can say “what!?” and she’s just 7 yrs. old. Must run in the family.

Any-who… Happy New Year Joe’s Blog Community!! **** May the sci-fi fairies grant a fabulous launch of Dark Matter! ****

  20. ya Joe~! I agree with msstargate 100% how about those low commentors? those who are new to the blog, or to the most useful, stupid, ridiciulous, useless comment for an idea? 🙂 i should get a nice price there i believe!

  21. Congratulations to the top five! I never doubted any of you for a moment – and have enjoyed reading your comments this year.

@Ponytail: You make an excellent cheerleader. 😉 I promise to try harder next year, but I don’t think I’ll ever been in the same class as you, gforce, Randomness, Tam Dixon, and das.

@Narelle: Hey, stranger! Good to see you! How have you been? I would love to see an updated “this is your life” for Joe’s blog. Maybe in honor of the 3000th post? That will give you a little time to start collecting ideas. (yes, I am good at volunteering other people to do things – you’re welcome).
