The return of my bento box breakfast.  Peanut butter oatmeal with cherries and burnt white chocolate for dessert.

  1. I can’t believe Jelly is almost 16. She does not look it. She is a very pretty girl. Love her ear-warmers. Akemi needs to make you something.

Robert C Cooper seems to be everywhere. When you lived in Vancouver, you went over to his house. Now in Toronto, here he is. (and I think he has a house here too right?) Is he helping with Dark Matter??

  2. I love those bento boxes. You’re lucky to have such a wonderful girlfriend! I hope she acclimates to the cold in TO, though. It seems like it might be a long Winter ahead. My step-mom (and my mom too, actually) used to love knitting. Over the last couple of years she was around, my step-mom used to knit hats to donate to the cancer ward for patients at the hospital . By the last year or so though, her hands were just too arthritic to do it anymore. I think she really missed it.

Aww, good ol’ Jelly. She looks like she’s doing quite well. How has she handled the moves? I expect she’s taken it all in stride.

Cool to see the guys all together. “I smell championship!” – Are you sure that’s not just the after affects of the wings and nachos? 😉

  3. Oooo… [INSERT Fiber-Fetish-Drooling…] – WHICH Yarn Store *is* THAT?! 😀

    So, She KNITS, huh?
A “word” of Warning from a YARN-*STASHER* – [my local MICHAEL’S Manager refers to MY *Collection* as His *Satellite-Store*!], “YARN” *ain’t* CHEAP!! – Higher the “WOOL”-content, *higher* the Costs! — SHEEP are like HOOKERS, “NAKED” comes with a *PRICE*!

BTW, seriously, WHICH Yarn Store *is* THAT?

  4. Hey Joe,

I think Akemi’s knitting is a self-preservation response! I’m not sure what the popcorn craving is. 😉

Glad you’re keeping up with football. It was a bye week for the Ravens so I was just skipping around (actually my son was skipping and I was dealing with various technical and not so technical issues around the house (why do things always fall apart right before a trip?)

I’ve been trying to get our blogs back up and running (URL database issues), finish the R&D on a GPS demo for the Consumer Electronics Show in January, and now since our couch broke (maybe due to the teen sleepover that my son had on Friday?) I have to fix the couch before the house sitter shows up next weekend. Add in a Corvette work session on Monday, a Corvette Club meeting on Tuesday, and a 2 day business trip to Detroit on Wednesday/Thursday and I’ve got a pretty busy schedule the next couple of weeks.

I have a feeling that I’ll wake up in December wondering how I got there.

  5. Yay for the return of the bento boxes. 😀

Akemi looks very stylish in her winter coats, 🙂

What did Jelly ever do to you guys to be the recipient of clothes?

Congrats to the snow monkeys for another win. 😀

  6. Ha I went to Toronto this summer and stopped at two yarn stores…they have some good ones…tell her to look up the Yarn Harlot…she lives in Toronto and has a great blog…

  7. Cool, bentobox is back, neat.! Aww, Jelly looks adorable, christmasy and warm. I have not mastered the knitting, great job Akemi, I do a little crochet, all fun. I bet the gang loves having their picture taken, well we sure enjoy seeing their smiling faces! Thanks for sharing.

  8. @Almost 16-year old Jelly

That in itself is a fantastic achievement Joe, she’s a fighter. Having already lived past the average age for pugs and hopefully for a lot longer.

  9. Great pictures…but no ‘life in Toronto in Pictures’ is complete without a picture of you, Joey, in jammies and fuzzy slippers (bunny, preferably), watching tv and eating a big bowl of ice cream! THAT would be life – ANYwhere! 🙂

    das

  10. I LOVE pop corn! Just stay away from the microwavable stuff. Apparently the powdered flavoring…or the bag coating, or both causes cancer. My son got me an Orville air popper a few years ago. It rocks.

    Jelly’s hat looks great!

  11. It’s nice you have Akemi to look after you and the pups! Love the outfits for the pups too.

Akemi: Enjoy knitting and shopping for yarn. Yarns are so varied and gorgeous these days. It’s a great way to pass the time.

Keep warm and I’m glad the show is a fun work environment. Transporter didn’t have the same vibe.

JeffW: Now that hubby is leaving Microsoft, he’s looking for a technical place to host his blog. Since you’re a techie, any ideas?
