Oh, it’s on! This Sunday, come cheer Lulu on as she puts her undefeated record on the line (note: she’s never participated before so she is, technically, undefeated) in the Running of the Bulls at Pet-A-Palooza!
Looks to be a busy day because, in addition to that, there’s this:
And then this:
Finally, here’s Akemi’s take on that vegetarian restaurant (guest-starring yours truly):

That sounds adorable! Hopefully there will be video.
Wish I could be there. Interesting titles there in that book section: “Me Before You”, “A Man In Love”, “A Death in the Family”, and “The Empathy Exam.” At least those are the ones I could make out without my glasses on.

I’d love to, but my son David and I are heading downtown to Chicago on Sunday to watch the Orioles (hopefully) beat the Cubs. The Birds are on fire this season (1st place in the AL east) and I just had to fit a game in.
The O’s game is also serving as a chance for some decompression after a week of technical conference paper writing. I discovered last weekend that the deadline for my GPS paper was moved up three weeks from the typical schedule last year and I had to scramble to pull everything together in time.
Barb would be all-in on the Garlic Festival, while I’d probably be checking out the Pie Championship. BBQ? Pie? All in the same place?!? I’m definitely in!
For Lulu – let the games begin.
Akemi’s vids are really cool.
You are too.
And go Lulu! 😀
You have a busy weekend planned. 😀 I’d like to be there for the garlic festival. 🙁 Good luck Lulu!
Can the apparently successful Kickstarter funding of Star Trek Axanar for only about $500k-650k for 90 minutes and $100k for 20 minutes represent a breakthrough in costs and funding for science fiction movies and TV ?
Babylon 5 is getting a $100 million movie reboot.
Stargate SG1, SGA, SGU could all be brought back. SG1 [reboot], conclusions for SGA , SGU.
Alternatively I think fans would support various actors David Hewlett, Jewel, Flanigan, Amanda Tapping, Shanks, Judge, Carlyle and writer / directors in an original science fiction production.
I’ll be pulling for Lulu to retain her record.
Garlic Festival? Now I’m really jealous. Garlic is my favorite vegetable.
Love the video, but right after it was done it ran into a video of you making that ceci (sp?) dish. That looked fabulous! (And I can get GF shell pasta! Woo!)
My question is this – you used (soaked) dried chickpeas – so do you know if there is much difference in texture or cooking technique if you us canned? I would probably used canned (for convenience) and I don’t want to end up with mushy ‘peas.
Thankies in advance!

Canned is fine.
That salad is gorgeous! Unfortunately, the video didn’t work for me but that’s ok.
Please take pictures of the “Running of the Bulls” for us. A herd of Frenchies would be darling. Also, enjoy this time with Lulu.
I remember when my old kitty was pert/perky. Now he sleeps all day is grossly overweight. His new diet food isn’t working but I think it’s because he doesn’t get much exercise.
Hope it’s a fun day for everyone! It’s 98F (36.6C) here…. 🙁
I hope Lulu kicks French butt.
best of luck to lulu!
about the book question i asked on the 21st: good to know. i may check it out some day. (still going back & forth on that one)
Aw,,,she’s so sweet…nut as I tell my vegan daughter,,,I’m more a raw steak kinda guy,,,
Dang,,,darkness…it should be “but…not nut…”,,,sheesh,,,one would think I’m using Siri…
I always get sucked into Akemi’s videos, because they automatically play one right after the other. Before I know it, I’ve watched half a dozen of them, because they were so interesting.
