Thanks to everyone who took the time to offer tech advice on my printer issues (see yesterday’s blog entry). As it turned out, astrumporta offered me the solution. It was a simple matter of doing a little research, then downloading the old HP driver to match my antiquated operating system and voila! I have a wireless printer. And all it took was ALL DAY!

Regarding the fake booze sold in New Jersey restaurants – my concern is if they are doing it there, it is likely going on in other centers. Maybe it’s time to just not buy alcohol in restaurants.

Hope all here are well. I’ve got an annoying head cold, on my birthday no less. But can’t complain, others have much worse. Took some cold medicine and I managed to get around to spend time with my Dad and sister. It was nice.
Thanks for sharing the 5 most underrated sc-fi movies Joe. I’d only seen Gattaca (which I love) and Serenity. Primer looks great. I’ll check it out. My brother swears that in a few years Prometheus will be recognised as a classic. I haven’t caught up with it yet. Have you?
Other than that I’m knee deep in the hockey, learning Creative Suite 6 (Cloud) and trying to keep up with all things web and social media at work. I swear there are not enough hours in the day.

Guilty pleasure – yes, I used to watch wrestling, absolutely loved it. Haven’t watched it in years, but still, got to admit it. The last time I DID watch was the whole ‘let’s be real fighters!’ thing and yes, a fiasco. That was when I stopped. It’s not fun when it’s not fun.
I’ve seen all but Dark City of the Top 5 underrated movies. I’d mostly agree that they’re underrated. Whether they’re masterpieces . . . I’m not so sure. I’ll have to check out Dark City.

I’d add The Hitch-hiker’s Guide To The Galaxy. I know a lot of HHGTTG fans hated it because it was so different from every other version that came before it but I loved it. I’m also surprised that Serenity is on the list because I don’t think it’s underrated. I thought it was rated quite highly.
Oh, and I had no idea WTF was happening in Primer! I love thinking about the physics and consequences of time travel but most of Primer went over my head.

I’m not surprised on the bait and switch drinks. I’ve seen shows about the fish industry too. Bait and switch is probably in all products. I’ve heard stories from Hubby about bait & switch in computer consulting too. Even that whole dog food scandal was really a bait and switch. Sad.

Had to peek at the Wrestling – but these are too current. My “history” dates back to the 50s with the likes of Gentleman Jim Hady who was a fav. Then I discovered the “scripted” aspects where Jim was a bad guy in other states…sigh.
Sci Fi – Loved Serenity, enjoyed Gattaca
Did not like Silent Running and I cannot say why…guess I did not like Bruce Dern. Missed Dark City and Primer..although Primer sounds like it could be interesting.

I like Gattaca. I’m from Costa Rica, i’m watching right now SG-Atlantis season 1, again, i have all SG-1 and Atlantis DVD´s, i can´t try to watch SG Universe, i can´t watch a show that was in part responsible for Atlantis cancellation, i bet probably is a good show, but i can´t watch it. I’ve been reading a little about the show and it has a few things don´t make sense like the Lucian Alliance like some super advanced enemy, really i don´t believe that.

No need for me to worry about alcohol drinks because I’m allergic to alcohol. Yep. Not even alcohol in cold medicine. Gotta use all those imitation extracts, too. Can’t take me anywhere.
