I have to go with the starship and crew that was my introduction to sci-fi television, the Enterprise NCC-1701.  I actually know very little about the crew of the other ships.

Who you got and why?

  1. At first Star Trek was very much an American show which was not widely shown on UK TV when it first came out, in fact Sci Fi in general was not a huge deal here. The best we had was The Tomorrow People (the original and by far superior series)…. But then came Blakes 7 and it was the show that got me hooked on all things intergalactic. Yes, the acting was a wooden as the sets, the story line corny but, at the time, no one knew that in 1978. Now, I cringe at some of the acting but it is still a fun and nastalgic watch and there appears to be renewed interest with a cult following. Even now, I think that the ship, Liberator, is beautiful.

  2. Never mind my request for ship ID. Mr. Google says it’s the LIBERATOR from “Blake’s 7”.

    Knowing that, I would select the ENTERPRISE-D from ST:TNG due to:
    1. My long-standing interest in most things Trek;
    2. My general preference for Next Gen over original Trek;
    3. The fact that I had a crush on Kirk and might do something embarrassing on his ENTERPRISE…like sneak a kiss from the captain. 😉

  3. Just picking from these four for now?

    I have to admit, I’ve never seen all the episodes of ST:TOS. I know, I’m a bad, bad sci-fi fan. But I have seen a lot of episodes and all the movies. It would be a fun ride, but don’t put me in a red shirt!

    I’ve seen all of ST:TNG multiple times. The crew is dependable and trustworthy. The adventures are exciting. Tempting!

    I’ve only seen the first few episodes of Blake’s 7. The Liberator is a cool looking ship but I don’t think I’d trust the crew!

    Red Dwarf is one of my most favourite shows of all time. It’s a no-brainer really. I couldn’t pass up the chance to travel with Lister, Rimmer, Cat, Kryten, and (occasionally) Holly.

  4. I’d chose a Battlestar raptor, to jet around like Starbuck or a Foundation whisper ship which just look cool, though to live on the Millennium Falcon would be the ultimate, love the hiding spots for smuggling, that cool hologram chess table and the lightsaber practice. The Next Gen Enterprise with the replicators is more practical and cozy actually, you can go to as many jazz saxophone concerts as you like and they have an open bar.

  5. Absolutely the Enterprise – D. I’ve watched all of those episodes of TNG so many times that that crew basically feels like family, lol!
