Tomorrow, I head off to Montreal for four days. But not before dropping my breakdown of our next Columbo episode – “Candidate for Crime”!
Senatorial candidate Nelson Hayward murders his domineering campaign manager, staging it to appear that Hayward himself was the intended victim of a mob hit gone wrong.
I, uh, have thoughts.
I also have some Stargate-related questions!
What was the most “morally grey” decision in Stargate history (e.g., O’Neill shutting down the gate on Alar in “The Other Side, the Hoffan drug, experimenting on Michael, body-swapping via the stones), and would you have made the same call?
and
What Stargate storyline do you wish had been further explored or revisited?
Have at it, Stargate fans!
Alright, I’m off to have a quick bite and a coffee ahead of this 5:00 p.m. pitch. Wish me luck!

Sorry, meant to wish Akemi Happy Birthday before but I’m rubbish xxx Hope your pitch went well Joe. Thinking of your Mum xxx
Lol. Thanks, Jane.
Hmm, I’ll have to put some thought into those SG questions. Those morally grey examples you have thought are all great examples. I think of those the experimentation on Michael was the most chilling, given actual history. I hesitate to give an opinion if it was the right thing to do or not, as actually being the situation may make a difference. Still, the right thing to do is still the right thing, so….
For your second question, I’m trying to think back of all the SG storylines, lol. I can’t remember any that needed further development, but maybe I’ll think of something later. I’m trying to think of something like ST:TNG’s “Conspiracy” (the one with the Go’auld like bugs that were taking over Starfleet). It was such a huge setup and the ending made it seem that the idea would be picked up later but it never was. I don’t remember SG doing anything like that.
I hope all goes well in MTL!!
1 – Yes, the Michael story was one that was perhaps cited more than any other when other fans answered this question.
2 – There were plenty of similar instances cited by Stargate fans. Some of the alien species they mentioned include the Nox, the Retou, and the aliens from SGA’s Daedalus Variations.
