April 4, 2026: The search for our ship’s Techie begins! The Sweet Sixteen+!

A full travel day saw us leave our L.A. apartment at 9:00 am (local time) and finally arrive in our Toronto home by 10:30 pm (local time).  And so, after two and a half glorious months in sunny Los Angeles, we are back!  Back in cold, dreary, drab, rainy Toronto. And I couldn’t be more bummed.  If nothing else, this really motivates me to try and get a show off the ground that will hopefully force me to relocate back.

The search for our ship’s Techie begins!

    At least you’re all home safe and sound! You sound like us Brits moaning about the weather so you’re not alone. Umm, definitely McKay and Eli. For me, none of the others though. Bonnie Langford! I’ll scream and scream and scream until I’m sick ( you’ve got to be of a certain age and British)

    I am looking forward to see you become a Californian! My choices would be similar: 1. McKay (this was a hrad choice! They are all in my top!), 2: Eli. 3: no clue, 4. Gaeta all the way! If I’d have to select only one, I’d go with McKay though <3

    But since I remembered Alec from Continuum, let’s go with him and Eli.

    There’s some deep cuts here!

    McKay – Duh! We all know he’s gonna win. (Plus I don’t know who the other two are.)

    Theora – I like Eli but Max Headroom is one of my favourite shows (see my avatar) so I can’t not choose Theora. I never thought of Mel as a techie but I just looked her up and supposedly she’s a computer programmer! If you want a techie Doctor Who companion I’d go with Nyssa, Romana or Adric.

    Will – I don’t like Avon and even though Mickey the Idiot redeems himself I still think of him as a third wheel. Whereas Will is a genius.

    Alec – Like you, I don’t really know. I picked Alec because of Erik Knudsen’s cameo in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

    Gotta be a final show down between McKay and Eli. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a highly unlikely tie.

    Hopefully, you at least got a good night’s sleep when you got home?

    Yes, definitely a bummer returning to dreary weather. Albeit, look on the bright side … You made it home with perfect timing .
    It’s only April but already a large, windy, wildfire has broken out 60 miles east of LA. One more month there and you likely would have been contending with, headache causing, smoke filled skies over the Grove. High wind driven fires have become a very regular warm weather occurrence in towns surrounding the greater metro.
