I found this site that produces all-over-t-shirt prints of famous artwork.  I spent almost an entire afternoon perusing the seemingly endless array…

I am veeeeery tempted to add to my ridiculous collection of t-shirts that have been sitting in my closet for years, unworn, but fear Akemi will draw the line.  But, man, I would love a Hieronymous Bosch Garden of Earthly Delights or maybe John William Waterhouse’s Lady of Shallot or even a Gustave Dore Paradise Lost.

I mean, if someone was to offer to gift you three art-themed t-shirts of your choice, what would YOU choose?  I’m curious.

Was planning to fly out to Montreal on Sunday in the midst of a blizzard.  Checked my flight status before I left and learned my flight was scheduled to depart on time.  Arrived at the airport one hour before departure and checked.   Still on time.  Sat in the lounge until the scheduled boarding.  Still on time.  But no boarding.  Then flight delayed an hour.  Then another hour.  Then another hour still.  Then cancelled.  So I walked home in the blizzard and have now rescheduled the Montreal.  Hopefully my flight fares better than the one that touched down at Pearson airport yesterday.  Have I mentioned how much I hate flying?

Our recent Columbo rewatch has reignited my desire to get back to the Crime Binge.  To be fair, I only took a brea while I was away in Japan and I’m about 730 shows in, but having a hard time finding anything good.  What are you are all watching that you’re presently enjoying?  Doesn’t have to be a crime show.

  1. If that t-shirt place had Edvard Munch’s “The Scream”, that would be perfect for our times.

Wild that the plane crash had most people walk away from it. Talk about lucky!

  2. Ooohhh, I’d like to get a tshirt with Judith Beheading Holofernes by Caravaggio. That’s my favourite painting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judith_Beheading_Holofernes_(Caravaggio)#/media/File:Judith_Beheading_Holofernes-Caravaggio_(c.1598-9).jpg

When I heard about the crash in Montreal I was hoping you weren’t affected by it. Hopefully you can get there tomorrow! Look at it this way, it’s still safer than if you hired a car and drove to Toronto.

I finished the second season of Silo the other week. Such a great adaptation of a book. But I hope they speed things up a bit otherwise they’re likely to be cancelled before they can finish the story.

I’ve had Network 47 playing in the background while I work. It’s a Twitch channel with nothing but Max Headroom content. It’s great! https://www.twitch.tv/network47tv

I’m also sort of watching the second season of Severance. I say “sort of” because I can’t decide if I like the show or not. I like the concept and style of the show but I’m not a fan of the metaphysics.

I finished a Chuck rewatch not long ago. I love that show so much.

    1. That IS a great painting. Sadly, not available on the site. Wonder if they take requests.

  3. Antiques Road Trip on PBS. Love it! (Not to be confused with Roadshow.)

As far as tv with actors and such, I’m mostly just watching the standard Brit mysteries, like Midsomer, Death in Paradise, Father Brown, and the like – things that don’t require much brain power or emotional investment. There are others, like Professor T (love it!) and Vienna Blood (way behind on that one) and Magpie/Moonflower Murders, but those I actually have to pay attention to, so I tend to re-watch the same comfy episodes of shows like Midsomer so that I can fall asleep to them without guilt. 😀

    das

  4. I really enjoyed Black Doves on Netflix, but not sure if that’s your cup of tea. 🙂

  5. Got bored with Get Smart.
A while back a neighbor had digitally converted and gifted me
episodes from the Creature Feature series
and some Jetsons cartoons. I’ve been mostly watching those.

Glad your flight to your moms was rescheduled till after the storm.

  6. Here’s what I’ve been exploring Britbox:
“After the Flood” was good but the ending was a bit weak.
I enjoyed “The Tower”. It was a bit more complex.
    “Bancroft” was interesting.

If you haven’t watched “Foyle’s War” on Amazon yet, give it a try. It was one of the best period pieces I’ve ever watched.

    1. Didn’t love After the Flood or The Tower. Will check out Bancroft and Foyle’s War.

      1. Oh, Foyle’s War is top-notch, perhaps the best all-round show of its sort. The stories, the acting – everything! Just excellent stuff!

One of my personal favorites (if we’re going back in time) is Cadfael. I can easily ignore the production quality and costuming, and the somewhat dated feel of the series (especially the first season sets)…those things I just chalk up to the years in which it was produced. Not a 1970s or 1980s cheesy Brit production, but not the higher quality of production we get today. Lots of production growing pains in the 90s, but overall the show works for me. I enjoy the time period, and would love for my kitchen to resemble Cadfael’s little workshop. 😀

        das

  7. Dark Matter(SyFy, not Apple) and The Middle have been my go-to shows. With a sprinkle of Martin and Living Single.
