Someone is parked in my parking spot! I received the news this morning, went down to check and, sure enough, there it was, sitting there in all of its shiny white Audi glory. I was annoyed. To be fair, I sold my car some five years ago and either walk everywhere or occasionally use public transport or uber to get around, but I allow the building’s cleaning lady to make free use of my parking spot – something she was unable to do this morning because some jackass decided to help themselves. According to the security feed, it’s someone who doesn’t even live in the building who accessed the parking level by following someone else in. I contacted the parking authority who write them up a $75 ticket. That was at around 9:00 a.m. Some 6+ hours later, the SUV is still there. So next step is to have it towed if it’s still there tonight.
David Chang called a trademark bully for attempting to claim control of chili crunch market.
I have heard a little over a half dozen stories about David Change. Absolutely none of them good. By all indications, one of the truly shittiest people in the food industry.
Visited Le Genie the other day with Sharky (while Akemi went shopping) for their astounding pistachio tart and delicious mocha.
Most of my life, I’ve been a fan of the decadent creamy cheeses like Brillat-Savarin, Chateau de Bourgogne, and Torta Mascarpone, but lately I’ve acquired an appreciation for some of the harder cheeses – long thin slices of Mimolette or white truffle Manchego that I allow to melt on my tongue for a few seconds before enjoying their crystal-studded texture.
Where do you all fall on the cheese spectrum? What are some of your favorites?

Clearly Apophis drives an Audi.
Clearly!
I have never had some of the cheeses you mentioned. We had a cheese shop in Santa Barbara named C’est Cheese, a very clever name. It closed during the Pandemic. It had cheeses from all over the world. I had some Blue Stilton Cheese imported from the UK that was amazing. I want to try the White Truffle Manchego you mentioned. I love Manchego. I also eat a lot of Tillimook Sharp Cheddar Cheese from the Pacific Northwest of the US.
So where do you get your cheese now?
Sorry to hear about the rude person helping themselves to your parking spot
but glad to hear you recently got to have a yummy hazelnut cream croissant and a nice dose of a pistachio sweet. xo
Cheeses? I’ll get back to you on that. I grew up eating mostly greek and italian cheeses.
(medium-hard). Albeit since I got sick my cheese intake has been severely limited.
Once I’m fully better am planning to try a whole lot more varieties from around the world
and will let ya know if I come across any I fall in love with.
Report back, Drea!
@gforce Very sorry to hear about Zoie.
Hugs.
I just bought some Brillat-Savarin from the Bath Fine Cheese Company a couple of days ago! It is delicious! I was worried the flavour would be too strong (it is stinking out my fridge!) but the flavour is actually very mild which is more to my liking. I don’t mind a hard, salty cheese as long as it’s not too sour or bitter. The Black Bomber cheddar from the Snowdownia Cheese Company is probably my favourite. Or a well aged parmigiano reggiano. My tastes are simple.
I’m in Cornwall at the moment. Just had dinner at Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant. I’m not a big seafood eater but the fish and chips were very good! Tomorrow I’ll be checking out a local bakery for some of their signature pastries.
It all sounds delicious.
Havarti is my favorite cheese. Smooth and creamy with a nice mellow flavor. So did the asshat move his vehicle, or did you end up having it removed?
He eventually moved it last night – along with his $75 ticket. I’m still trying to figure out who it was – or who he knew in the building.
I like most cheese but Gouda is my go-to.
Good luck with the parking space! I don’t understand people who do things like that.
I’m in Nashville visiting a friend. 👋🏻
