And by all, I mean everyone regardless of political, gaming, or religious affiliation.

And by rejoice I mean celebrate.

And by season, I mean my fantasy football League of Accommodation’s post-season playoffs that culminated yesterday in a win for my Snow Monkeys, thus allowing them to secure their first championship since 2011.

December 25, 2017: Let’s All Rejoice For Tis The Season!

Okay, technically, it’s not an official championship yet but with my Monkeys up 32.16 points heading into a Monday night game with a single player left to play – I’m going to chalk it up.  Barring DeAndre Hopkins turning the ball over 17 times, this time tomorrow we’ll be sipping virtual champagne out of our virtual championship trophy.

Last night, we celebrated Christmas with food, family, and the annual early opening of the presents (getting earlier every year in parallel to our respective bedtimes). The highlights for me were the first and last gifts I opened – the first, what appeared to be a box containing a trifle bowl that, thankfully, turned out to actually contain underwear; the second, a box containing absolutely nothing, one of last year’s empty leftovers Akemi accidentally packed with the rest of this year’s haul.

And, of course, the ever appreciated doggy sweaters.

Ho ho ho.

Well, hope you’re all enjoying the holidays.  Best wishes to all!

Except the scrooges at syfy!

How are you all planning to ring in the new year?  Do tell.

  1. Merry holidays to you and yours and everyone too! (But only if you’ve been good – not SyFy execs., agreed)

  2. I’m going to try to get through 2018 without killing anyone, just like I do every year. Let’s just hope I don’t cross paths with any Syfy execs.

  3. Congrats on the Snow Monkeys!!

We’ve been having snow all day, which has now turned into a blizzard, so I haven’t gone anywhere today, including nowhere for Christmas dinner. 🙁

However, I DID find this on my Facebook feed – a full version of the Star Wars Holiday Special!! It’s so terrible, but kinda awesome. I mean, Bea Arthur and Harvey Korman in Star Wars! Happy Life Day!!

  4. Merry Christmas and best wishes !
and for sure bah humbug to the scrooges at syfy

  5. I managed to have a pleasant day at work today. They gave us a turkey dinner, which was quite tasty with all the trimmings. I don’t normally celebrate Christmas just because no family nearby and no money to buy presents.

I don’t want to sound like a grump but is this year over yet? This month? It’s been kind of a downer and difficult on several levels. I had eye surgery on the 11th, pending surgery on the other eye, more pending surgery on the first eye, one cat will likely need a dental sooner rather than later and another cat is constipated so I’ve treating him with yummy lactulose. He’s not pleased with me but is being a pretty good sport about it. Today my old Jeep wouldn’t start after work, I couldn’t get the latch to work on the hood. It’s minus 29 Celsius with the wind chill. The Jeep is still at work. A co-worker gave me a ride home and will pick me up in the morning. I don’t like being without a vehicle. Made way too many emergency runs to the vet over the years.

Seriously, though, enough 2017. Go away. Don’t let the screen door hit you on the way out.

  6. Happy Merry, Joe and Akemi, and to your mom, Andria and all the Mallozzi critters!

  7. Sorry for the dump all of my crud on the rest of you tone of my first comment. It’s all a bit much lately. Hope everyone has an excellent day regardless of celebrating or not.

  8. Congrats on Snow Monkeys win. Never thought I’d live to ever again see the day…. 😀 😀

Finally caught the intoxicated Suji lapping up the doggy eggnog with Bourbon vid from a few days ago.

    Too adorable.

for those of you who missed it …..

    Merry Christmas Every One! XO

  9. New Year’s? I can’t think that far yet.

I’m not celebrating Christmas until tomorrow; my extended Arkansas family includes a couple of church pastors.

  10. Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you and yours! Lovely to see the gals decked out for the festivities. Congrats to those cute monkeys of yours!

  11. Happy Christmas! No plans yet for New Years…one holiday at a time for me.
    Congrats to the Snow Monkeys!!

  12. Merry Christmas! I bet your Mom had a huge spread. Any food porn? You could collaborate on a cookbook with her, one day…

It’s cold here. I skipped my morning swim for my hubby. He’s off all week and I’m dragging him out into the cold (20-30F here). I’m hoping to get on a tall building and take some shots of Downtown Memphis with out new camera. I’m also hoping I don’t get shot/mugged but that’s another story.

  13. Congratulations Joe & the snow monkeys. Well deserved win. In our league, my trainer (who just scraped into the playoffs with a 6-7 record, keeping me from the playoffs) won every playoff and finished with a 14 point win in the championship game. I ended up finishing 8th.

Next season I’m creating my own league.

I have no New Year plans… apart from working on the Sunday afternoon.

    Cheers, Chev

P.s. Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas.

  14. Well done on your team winning.

I’ll ring in the new year when any network commissions seasons 4&5 of #DarkMatter. I could be waiting a while but…

  15. We have a standing New Years Eve Party every year. A gathering of family & friends…welcoming in the New Year with great food, drink & friendship. Champagne, wine, beer, mixed cocktails…name your poison, our “bar” has it. We usually have a beef tenderloin and loads of miscellaneous fixins.

Wishing you a boring, uneventful Sunday evening in which you can nestle into bed with visions of chocolate, saki, whiskey, and more chocolate in the air…
