With my script work behind me for the show’s fourth season and my correspondence with various email scammers reasonably up-to-date, I headed over to Terminal City today to see how the latest episode on deck was coming along. Director Martin Wood, very excited about the past two days’ filming, tried to prepare me for the upcoming sequence. Did I want earplugs? I passed, perhaps a little too quickly. No time for me to reconsider though as Martin yelled “Action!”. The ensuing few seconds went something like this: “Gunfire! Gunfire!” then “Hits!” then “Ronon blasts!” then “Explosion!”. By the time Martin yelled “Cut!” and then “Incroyable!” the set was suffused in a drifting opaque cloud of dust and God-knows-what. I stepped outside to clear my lungs but, by the time I returned, they had already packed up and moved on.
Feeling very much like the soon-to-doomed victim in some industrial horror flick, I crept through the eerie, dimly lit corridors, following the sound of distant clatter and far-off whispers until I finally found Martin and co. running through the next shot with Jason, David, and Paul. As I tried to figure out why my camera had suddenly taken to snapping pics of its own accord, David and Paul came over to discuss a fabulous new series David was enjoying: Jekyll. It was while we were chatting that Paul spotted Carol Appleby giving two contest winners the guided tour. “I’m going to say hello,”he said, and excused himself to go over and introduce himself. David followed and happily fell into conversation with them. As I tried to figure out why my camera was suddenly not snapping pics no matter how many times I pressed down on the little silver button, Carol walked the contest winners over and introduced me. I’m more than happy to chat with on-set visitors but rarely go over and say hi because, let’s face it, I’m the writer/producer and not the guy who played Peg Leg Dancing Jaffa in the episode Serpent’s Hat. Surprisingly, however, they knew who I was and even admitted to being avid readers of my blog. Well, having tinkered with my camera to the point where it would finally snap pics – after a lengthy three full second delay – I took a snap of the happy contest winners for today’s entry.
It was dangerously close to lunch time and while I would have loved to stick around and watch the scene being shot (they were delayed by the clean-up of the window taken out by an overly-enthusiastic Jason during rehearsal), I needed to get back to the office or risk Alex Levine laying claim to my barbecue chicken salad. Of course by the time I got outside, I happened across a practice sparring session being serenaded by a clearly-down-on-his-luck street musician and had to snap some more pics.
Thankfully, I made it back in time to both save my barbecue chicken salad and get the lowdown on…Ah, I’ll save it for another entry.
Those lotsa pics: Pretty much what I talked about.
P.S. To be fair, I’m dedicating this blog entry to everyone.

‘Ello!
So, is Teal’c going to sport the same haircut as Christopher Judge is at the moment? Because that’s a look that can really work for Teal’c!
*waves from the ground*
I’m trying out a new word. Thuddiness. As in, your blog was filled with it today. :o)
Oh my! Joe with guitar, Jason sparring, Paul and David. *does her happy dance*
Well, Joe, it has to be said. I’ve learned something new today. I didn’t know you could use ‘ respectfully’ AND ‘dipstick’ in the same sentance to refute a posters bizarre statement. And it was done with such flair! Thanks for that. I might save it up and use it later, if that’s okay with you?
And thanks for the blog dedication. 😉 I was starting to feel like I was forgotten about. *Now feels luffed* 😉
This all sounds like so much fun! You are making me more and more eager to watch Season 4!!!! I do have one question: Does Carson’s return mean that Dr. Keller is no longer CMO, or does that question fall under spoilers?
Okay one last try and then I promise to go away but you answered if Carter will go off-world so I figured what the heck try one last time. Just please answer say yes or no to the following question as it really does not give away spoilers and we already know the answer to the same question for many of the other characters; will Sam Carter get whumped in S4? Thank you so much.
I forgot CJ! I feel really guilty now *sniff* It’s the hair, I don’t recognise him with it, gets me confused everytime…
Sorry CJ.
Wow, it’s amazing how you can tell right away the difference between Paul’s and David’s personalities in that pic; Paul is all sweet and smiling, while David is making a goofy face, as usual. Hilarious.
A few things today:
1. In yesterday’s blog, you said you watched Adrift’s “final mix”; does that mean it’s ready to air on TV?
2. The episode being shot today with the explosions and smoke; it’s “The Kindred”, right?
3. I’d like to clarify a question made by another poster. As both Pegasus Project and Midway are (as you’ve said) big crossover episodes, which episode do you like better?
4. How well does Joe F play the guitar?
Hey Joe!! Love Love LOVe the piccies !! Ronon and Teal’c Whumpage!! Woot! and for some Reason Joe F. reminded me of Johnny Cash in that piccie. Too cute! Like i have been saying can not WAIt for season 4!! The suspense is killing me here!! And as always love love LOVe this blog as always 😀
Looking at the picture of Joe F. practicing on his acoustic guitar, the guy standing next to him looks like he wants to say, “I got into TV production to listen to this?!?”
I guess Joe F. still needs a lot of practice!!!! At least he has his acting talent and good looks, music star might be a little ways away!!!
The pics you post are great. Your blogs are all around great! I admire you and thank you for your dedication to the fans of Stargate, et al.
Just a little “rose throwin'”
Again, Thanks

I am so digging Teal’c with the dreads… And your ‘dipstick’ response was well put.
Would it be too much of a spoiler to reveal if Sam asked Teal’c to come to Atlantis? Seems like she might give her friend a call to help Ronon through a few issues…
Jekyll is a programme which is definately worth viewing, James Nesbitt is an absolute legend, as is writer Steven Moffat…not that I’m a biased Doctor Who fan or anything.
I watched some of the filming on a cold and miserable, somewhen in Oct/Nov, day in my home town, easily spotted by the slightly shabby and grubby pink pier behind the face of an ice cream smudged Nesbitt….Ah, that’ll help the tourist industry for Bognor no end.
If you haven’t viewed it yet please do, I highly recommend it…that is if the honorable Mr. Hewlett hasn’t already.
Thanks for the behind the scenes pics….looks like the season is coming up trumps!
so far…can you say in how many episodes (in the second half) dr.weir will be in?
by the way…i love your blog^^
Did the down and out busker make any money at all?
Give two boys broom handles and they’ll fight to the death for yah!
If it was the same Jekyll that was on in the UK a few weeks ago, it relied too heavily on blood guts and gore and not enough on a ‘believable’ story line. It was the usual oh god the geneticists are at it again scenario.
Question for you if you could bring anyone at all back from the dead using their DNA who would it be? Perchance Dr Carson Beckett?
Pauline
Dear Joe, I see that JoeF has another guitar. Very nice. I’m loving the pics of the practice fight with Ronon and Teal’c. I can’t wait to see it. It’s also nice to see how you guys are to us little people. LOL.
Ok. Silly question. We’ve heard Teyla sing and that was wonderful. Will we hear John play a lullabye for Teyla’s baby as a gift for her? I hope to hear from you. Thanks, Scifan.
O1 writes: “Can you give us a hint about outcast and whether it is going to be an action episode, a character driven episode or an angsty episode?”

Bless you, child!
Thanks for photos, tidbits and chuckles!
Hiya Joe,
Why is Mr Flanigan playing a guitar in the streets? You don’t have to answer this if it’s Sheppard related and plot spoilery but I thought he was basking!
Great photos and nice to see Mr McGillion around.
I really really love the pics you have posted today. The fight seen with Jason looks bloody brilliant! And it’s really nice of you to say hi to fans – contrary to what you may think, a lot of people know of you as we enjoy the pics you post in your blog!
Take care,
M
Thanks for the great pics. And good work on getting us all salivating to see the new season. It seems every time you talk about it, I want to see it more and more.
Out of curiosity, how would you rank season 4 of Atlantis among all seasons of SG (including SG-1)?
Well done, sir! You know some people just don’t know how lucky they are to receive your wrath. I would prostrate myself before you if your supreme evilness could devise such a title for me!

Well, they’re both SG1/Atlanis crossovers. That’s about all we know right now, and I was wondering how the two would be differnt. How big of a role will the SG1 characters play in this crossover?
What tune was Joe strumming?

is season 4 going to be split into 2 parts when they air in the states? or is it going to run continuously? thanks.
AWESOME PICTURES!
Hey, just wondering. What were your favorite sci fi shows growing up, and do those influence your writing at all?
In a Season Four promo there is a shot of Teyla hugging Sheppard in a dark hallway outside a room. Which episode is that one from?
Quoted anonymous “Because people were talking about his clothes with the antiquated attitude about what men should wear.”
Did you SEE that tank top?! It’s the kind I would buy and I’d laugh my husband back INTO the house if he ever left it wearing one of them. Good grief.
Thank you Joe for all the lovely photos today. Woo-hoo!

Hi Joe!
Stopping back by cuz I heard there were yet more lovely photos and words to be had. Behold! Handsome men abound! 🙂
Took a few days off from Stargate fandom to rock with RUSH around Texas. The ringing in my ears has mostly stopped, enough so I can hear your commentaries on SG-1 S10 DVDs (currently Counterstrike).
Thanks again for the wonderful pics, hilarious responses to spammers, etc. etc.
Do we need to do a fundraiser for the Air Force since they have Shep workin’ the streets for money?!!! From what I’ve seen online, he could make a lot more money by *not* playing guitar, knowmesayin’?
Sending love to Canada,
J_I
Oh! Forgot one thing – hopefully the pics will help answer the eternal online question: Ronon v. Teal’c – who would win?!
I’ve seen Joe playing the guitar in a few of your pics now, does he sing too?
So you’ll be taking earplugs next time then? 😉
Were the contest winners the ‘get in the gate’ winners or haven’t they done that yet?
as always, love the pics…can’t wait for season 4!!!
Major arcs, huh? How many major arcs would you say are in play during season four? Also, will Carter be in the season finale?
Great pictures. Any real Stargate fan would want to meet the writers and producers also. Even if some of them don’t appreciate your sense of humor.

Someone else likes Stargate and RUSH and is a female!!! You need to come to Michigan!! I will be seeing the Toronto Trio in 12 days and I can’t wait. Maybe Joe F. needs to have Alex Lifeson come and tutor him on the acoustic guitar. There is always “Hope” 🙂
FYI, Alex did compose and perform the season one theme (March of the High Guard) for Andromeda.
That reminds me, if McKay was a true geek from Canada, he would have brought a RUSH poster along to hang up in his room.
hey Joe, this is Julia and Liane, the contest winners and we would like to say that we really ejoyed today and we thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk to us. The chocolate was DELICIOUS!!! What kind was it? I have forgotten, sorry… Our friend Kyrah waves a big HELLO from Down Under (she was outside Bridge Studios this afternoon and we met up with her afterwards)… Please say “Hey!” to everyone and especially Paul… (He owes us a picture LOL)… Looking forward to reading your next blog as we are indeed avid readers!!!! Germany OUT!!!!
Hi Joe,
That busker chappie? Strange he turned up on the anniversary of the death of Elvis no?
Two Questions: more like total confusion actually, 1) when/if there is a Season Five, is Carter going to be in it as well? 2) I’m assuming that Teyla will be in the season finale?
I had been thinking about that for a while and I think about it all the time as I write my Trilogy(fanfiction) that it(the Trilogy) takes place where S4 leaves off if there is no S5, but if there a S5 then I actually have it at the point wherein it is in the middle part of the season,(and is also Centered on Teyla and is actually AU amd full of comic wit) anyway…
You are doing a GREAT JOB by taking over for Atlantis 🙂 *hugs*
now a none Atlantis question, dog care; namely types of dog foods? which do you perfer for a seven months old puppy?
~Teyilia
What, in your opinion, is the worst movie ever made?
Awesome pictures today. Good shot of Shawn M., one of the coolest ADs in the biz. And regarding Jekyll….very good show with great acting.
You cancelled out your ‘respectfully’ with your ‘dipstick’ comment. And you wonder why people think you’re a rude arrogant shit.

I agree, anonymous. There’s no accounting for some people’s taste. Or lack of.
To me, he looks like some seedy type you’d see wandering around the strip in Vegas. Handing out those cards with the numbers of strippers and prostitutes on them.
Seriously, anyone who thinks that’s a good look.. I’m worried about you.
When you see someone like Joe Flanigan, who’s all class when you see him in real life, and then spot Chris (who I’m sure is a wonderful person, he just lacks wardrobe skills) looking like that — there’s no comparison.
All Chris needs is a gold hoop in each ear, or maybe a diamond stud, and he’d look like he was ready for a shootout with some rapper types.
I’ve only been reading your blog for about three weeks since I only recently discovered it. And yes, I have been under a rock. Anyway . . .
“I happened across a practice sparring session being serenaded by a clearly-down-on-his-luck street musician and had to snap some more pics.”
When I saw the thumb, I thought, “He looks like he’s panhandling!” Was there a little cup down by Joe’s feet perchance?
I am eagerly anticipating Season 4 as it appears that it will be extraordinary. Thanks for the “previews” and the updates on the scammers. I love your responses to them.
Don’t you all pay attention??? Midway isn’t going to be like Pegasus Project, it’s going to be like Ethon.
You know, it’s hot and all that Joe plays the guitar, but one thing I’ve never understood is why people never trim their guitar strings. I could imagine not doing so in the middle of a concert when your strings break..but otherwise?
You should ask him this question. I am exceedingly curious.
Awesome pictures today, thanks! Especially the one with Joe and the guitar. 🙂
Question: Rachel said in an interview with SciFi Wire published June 15th, “She[Teyla] actually does have a love interest that she’s been hiding from everybody….We haven’t met him yet. I haven’t met him yet. I hope I’m part of the casting process.”
So I’m wondering: (1) Is this storyline still happening? and (2) If so, has the part been cast yet?
Thanks!
Hi.
I have to say, i think puppy fever is going around, i recently brought my new Mini Poodle puppy home from a breeder out at Gulgong (NSW, Aus) and he’s absolutely adorable, being a puppy owner yourself, i was wondering if it was a puppy thing…the biting? Does your new puppy bite just for the hell of it? My Milo likes to hang off my toes and it hurts like hell…
Oh, and my second question. Would you be able to tell me what episodes Weir will be in? I’ve looked on the episode listing but i can only see her name listed on 3 when i’m certain you said it was 4??
Thanks.
Hi Joe!
Lots in your blog to make me happy today!!!Loved the photos. Jason and Chris sparring looks great.
Of course by the time I got outside, I happened across a practice sparring session being serenaded by a clearly-down-on-his-luck street musician and had to snap some more pics.
Sorry, I know you hate text speak, but – LOL! That had me spitting my morning cup of tea over the keyboard! Let’s just hope said ‘musician’ didn’t sing too, bless him!
Anonymous #3 writes: “Teyla’s only getting ‘character development’ because Rachel’s pregnant.”

Dipstick? Second mouthful of tea over the keyboard. Your blog should come with a warning! Good use of the word, and so appropriate in this instance.
Finally…it’s ok, the tea stayed where it was meant to when read I read this question, and the nice warm feeling in my stomach wasn’t just from the hot liquid I’d imbibed:
O1 writes: “Can you give us a hint about outcast and whether it is going to be an action episode, a character driven episode or an angsty episode?”
Answer: Hopefully, all of the above.
Just big, big grins on my face after reading the above. Thank you. 🙂
No question today. Just huge smiles.
Thank you for brightening up my morning with the picture of Joe F playing a very nicely decorated guitar.
Is the picture a tease, or will Joe be playing in the episode?
If it’s not a tease, will we actually get to hear what he is playing, or will the sound be dubbed by someone else?
Thanks 🙂
In fact, with all of the mounting dangers the expedition has faced in the Pegasus Galaxy, the question one should ask is not “Why is the military getting more involved?” but “What took it so long?”
:::nodding:::
You know, when Atlantis first aired I rather thought it was odd that they were sending this expedition into most likely hostile territory and it was civilian run with military backup when maybe it should have been the other way around. Yet, I liked the way it turned out, even though a voice was yelling in the back of my head “But–!” I think if it had gone with a military led expedition it might have risked being too similar to the SGC setup. But if it’s now to be militarily led, they really do need someone who can span the bridge between the scientists and the military and that’s Sam Carter (maybe . . . hey, hey, don’t slap me! LOL I reserve the right make up my mind after I’ve seen a few S4 eps). I’m more than willing to give Sam a chance though, but really hope she screws up a few times so she can be as human as the rest of them. It’s really more interesting when there’s occasional ‘tension’ and ‘conflict’ between the expedition members when it comes to command decisions.
That said, I’m curious if in the process of creating Atlantis there was much discussion with regards to the expedition being civilian or military led or did you reach that conclusion fairly quickly?
Also, thanks so much for all the lovely pix. I adore seeing actors behind the scenes. However, do include the pugs and LuLu fairly often as I hate going too many days without hearing a dog story or seeing a picture. 🙂
You’re such a smarty pants, lol I love it! Thanks for the way cool Jason and Chris photos! I’m getting very excited for S4! I truly appreciate you not giving away details on your spoilers *blows kisses*
So, is Flanigan messing around with guitars because Sheppard’s actually going to play one instead of just having one sit in his quarters in Atlantis? I’ve seen David play a guitar in a couple of movies. McKay: “Oh, please, give me that! You call that playing?”
And for the question about whether Joe can sing. I heard him sing “Happy Birthday” for a fan at a convention and Joe can’t really sing. He got the whole audience to sing along so you didn’t hear just him, but you could still tell. He did warn us that we didn’t want to hear him sing and he was right. 🙂 I felt a little kinship with him since I can’t sing either.
Salut Joseph!!

G’day Joe! Not to seem rude or anything, and if this does I sincerely apologise. I just wanted to ask why (because it seems to me, please correct me if I’m wrong) you seem to be skipping over all the questions regarding Weir/Torri in the 2nd half of Season 4? I, and i’m sure a lot of others, are really interested in finding out as much info. as possible about her appearences in Season 4.
“Dipstick” is a great word! I have to use that more. I’ve not heard it in years.
Thanks for the yummy pics – of Joe, Paul and leather-clad Hewlett especially! Can’t wait to see CJ and Jason’s scene.
I’m more than happy to chat with on-set visitors but rarely go over and say hi because, let’s face it, I’m the writer/producer and not the guy who played Peg Leg Dancing Jaffa in the episode Serpent’s Hat.
Aww, of course we know who you are. I’d for one would rather me the “behind the scene” people than the stars. Not that meeting them wouldn’t be great also.
Ah maybe someday but then again I’d probably just pass out in front of everyone.
Hi ,
Finally we will have bloopers on DVD, thank you so much !!
I just hope to have a little bit of Torri in it along with the rest of the cast !!
As a man of wisdom and intelligence beyond his years, why do you think the UK can’t make good Sci-fi anymore?
The recent series of Doctor Who drift between excellent and rubbish in their scripting (Steven Moffat being the exceptional writer) and, save Torchwood and Hyperdrive (which are so bad it’s painful to watch even the adverts), there’s been nothing else produced since Red Dwarf.
What’s missing?
You read my mind. When I saw the picture of Joe with the guitar, the caption that came to my head was, “The production has run out of money and Joe does what he can to keep it going.”
Thanks for the pic spam. What a lovely way to start a Friday!
OOOh! Judge and Momoa fight!
Hey, Joe looks like a Glasgow busker in that picture!!
Great pics! Great Blog!
FraggleD
Hi !
Who won the battle ?
Thank you for the dedication!!!
Dangerously close to lunch!!!!
Have a nice weekend
Dori
In Season Four, are there any new species whose evil and malice rival the Wraiths or make them pale in comparison?
Thank you for the pics!!!! Lots of Jason..yeah….more of David, please, pretty please? And of course Paul(if he’s still there), Joe F., Amanda, David N. and how about you!
You are getting famous with the die-hard fans ya know! 😉
Can’t wait til next month for season 4!!!
Thanks for the answers Joe!
Do the pics mean Chris Judge is in more than 1 Atlantis episode this year I take it?
I know you said you aren’t talking about season 5 before you get the pick up (I’m sure you will from what I have read about season 4) but do you have a general idea about where all your big season 4 arcs are heading?
Thanks again!
Hiya,
Wow, great pics (as usual). JF really has thing for guitars lately huh?
Just a quick question cos i don’t remember seeing anything about this anywhere…(but i have a terrible memory so i may just have forgotten)
I really love the dynamic between Shep and McKay. The snarking is obviously hilarious, but they’ve had some really nice more serious interactions too. So…
Will we be seeing some good Shep/McKay freindship moments this season?
We’ve heard Teyla sing and that was wonderful. Will we hear John play a lullabye for Teyla’s baby as a gift for her?
Good grief NO! Please don’t stoop to the stupidity of afternoon programming!
So outcast is going to be an action episode, a character driven episode and an angsty episode?
I’m going to push for a forth……are the whumpers going to be happy?
It’s official. I love your camera. Or you. Or possibly both. I’d also like to wander across the path of that street peddler and his guitar.
Seriously, thank you. Love seeing the cast practicing fight scenes, playing around on down time, and everyone doing their ‘thing’ on a day-to-day basis.
And not even a peep on the picture (with the mysterious hand). Not even a hint. *sniff* That’s okay though, we know the evilness that can be you and your teaser hints and pictures. Somehow we’ll be strong and live with the not knowing for months more. Really. It’s fine. We can handle it. Maybe.
I’d send you chocolate but it’d just melt sitting in the mail truck.
Hi Joe
I was wondering something. We know that the Travellers will appear in Travellers and Be All My Sins(Or Spoils of War, one of the two).
Will the Travellers be appearing after Be All My Sins Remember’d (Or Spoils of War)?
Can you give us a firm number of our how many episodes they will be in this year?
Thanks!
Dear Joe,
thanks for your insight on Hong Kong. Just two questions:
1. have you heard of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel?
2. anyone going to hong kong this year?
thanks
Of course by the time I got outside, I happened across a practice sparring session being serenaded by a clearly-down-on-his-luck street musician and had to snap some more pics.
If you happen to run across that musician again, please pass on my email address. I’d like to throw a little work his way. And he doesn’t even have to sing…
Is that Jekyll starring James Nesbitt? Fantastic show, although I’ve only managed to catch a pair of episodes on the Beeb.
Hi Joe
Just a few more things (I knw, I know, I ask far too many questions…)
1. Will Mckay be more mature around Carter in season 4?
2. Will Carter find leading the expedition a hard task, will we get to see her not coping too well with it at first after being thrown into the job?
Thanks Joe, and thanks for answering my previous questions.
Hi, Joe. I´m fan of O´Neill/Carter romantic relationship. I want to ask you and other producers about it. Please put them together. Regularly, no alien viruses, no alternate realities, no time loops.
Please put them together, unambiguously, no suppositions. Please…. Thanks for answer
Joe, you have inspired me to reply to the young woman from the Ivory Coast who emailed me offering a share in $5,700,000 if she could come and live in my country. Wilhelmina Humperdinck, a 97 year old lady who is the sole surviving member of the Egremont Russet Apple Appreciation Society, loves Voles and Southern Bog Lemmings and has a collection of odd-job people residing in her attic, is going to reply with a proposition to buy an island off the coast of the UK in order to house the misguided youths of today, and educate them in how to keep their socks clean and defend the country against liberals who believe in freedom of speech and not burning women who are clearly witches. I had help from members of the Joseph Mallozzi Appreciation Thread on GateWorld of course, but we were wondering what you thought about that particular reply?
Hmm, since you shoot photos of actors on set, and then food, why not a photo of an actor with food! You could kill two birds with one stone (so to speak!)
and yes, very nice pictures (action and otherwise) on the 16th’s blog.
Joe,
I was just thinking that you’ve mentioned at some point that you had a pitch for SG-1 involving the team finding some kind of “Stargate factory” that the Ancients left behind, but unfortunately it never made it into any of the seasons. Did you though of “porting” the idea to Atlantis?
I see Joe Flanigan has had to take up busking to supplement his income and Jason is trying out new tactics toward off over amorous fans!
les fez said: “Do the pics mean Chris Judge is in more than 1 Atlantis episode this year I take it?”
Surely not. I’m o.k. with a cameo appearance, but any more than that would simply be stunt casting. Teal’c going to Atlantis is about as silly as Vala showing up. Unless, God forbid, he’s bringing all of the Jaffa with him.
Did you even try to have Jack/RDA in Atlantis for season 4?
Are you okay with how Sci-fi has schedulled season 4?
How will you blame if season 4 will be the last?
Kim said: It’s really more interesting when there’s occasional ‘tension’ and ‘conflict’ between the expedition members when it comes to command decisions.
WOW – wouldn’t it have been good if they had done this in SG-1. Here’s hoping Joe and Paul took a lesson from seasons 9-10 and the joke they became. This was one of the many problems that contributed to the overall huge mess SG-1 became at the end as it went out on the slide downward.
I really am wishing good luck to SGA and all the people involved especially the main characters, but most of all Carter though because if SGA turns out anything like SG-1 did in seasons 9 and 10 Carter will be a bigger mess than they allowed her to become at the end of SG-1 and that would be horrible for a character that was so strong and intelligent and for a character that for 8 years at least went against the sterotypical sci-fi female TV character (that all went to hell in 9-10 when they had to have the manly mucho-macho, “look at how kool I am”, action hero caricature, as lame as he was compared to Carter’s 8 years of experience).
The changes being done to SGA are so similar to SG-1 that you almost have to believe that tptb learned from all the mistakes of SG-1 seasons 9-10 and the accompanying fallen ratings they had for the last two seasons. It would have to stagger the mind if they make the same mistakes on SGA but underneath it all it would also confirm what many people think already and I’ll reserve judgment and comment on that until we see wheteher SGA fails too or succeeeds.

I see my good friend anon’s not been taking their happy pills lately.
“Anonymous who embodies the meaning of dipstick so beautifully has said…
You cancelled out your ‘respectfully’ with your ‘dipstick’ comment. And you wonder why people think you’re a rude arrogant shit.”
That was the whole point you muppet! And talking of arrogance, you might just want to take a look in the mirror oh bitter and twisted one!

All Chris needs is a gold hoop in each ear, or maybe a diamond stud, and he’d look like he was ready for a shootout with some rapper types.”
Anon! Let’s talk manners! You need to get some!
Have you got nothing better to do than be a bitch? Are you so socially inept that you don’t even have the social skills associated with good manners? You do know that these people have kindly allowed Joe to give something nice back to the fans? And all you can do is be a bitch about it? I guess not, because then that would actually mean you’ve got a brain and considered how hurtful your words can be to anyone.
But since you obviously don’t give a toss, shall I come to your house? Have a good look through your photo album, and tell you how awful you look? Given how ugly your personality is, i’m sure your clothing attire matches!
Sorry, Joe. Some people are just so rude.
Hopefully Joe got some tips in his hat. 😉
Can I put a link to your blog on mine? I’m sure you’ve given others permission, I just wanted to make sure.
(applauds Greatly for Cheeky lil devils comment on the pissy annoymoose) Im glad someone said it!! Well Done!!
Hello,
Has Torri finished shooting all her scenes for season 4 ?
Thank you !

Well Mr. Dipstick, it seems that your dipsticky ways have allowed you to make the simple mistake that all dipsticks make. Namely, in your natural, dipstick environment, surrounded at all times by various dipsticks, you fail to comprehend sarcasm. Don’t worry, this quality is particularly dipsticky and I hope you are proud of that, as you are plainly a dipstick.
Now, what you did get right you little dipstick thing you, is that very dipsticky sense of rudeness and a lack of rational thought. As well known by the major dipstickologists, all dipsticks fail at forming coherent sentences that are devoid of swear words. Let me explain again, because your brain (coincidentally, it’s in the shape of a dipstick) may not be able to grasp it: Dipsticks swear a lot, and instead of typing out respectful critisicms, dipsticks tend to shout their way out of their obvious inadequacies (their dipstick is not…ok, I’m not gonna go there) using various crude methods, such as swearing. In otherwords, dipsticks are usually idiots who take themselves waaaay too seriously, and as a result, tend to make themselves look foolish and, dare I say it, dipsticky.
Another very enlightening…I’m sorry, I meant laughable quality of a dipstick is their dipstickal delusion that their comments might actually hurt, somehow, the person they are raging at, or that their insults are at all intellegent or meaningful in any sense of that word, or that they actually know how their victims (usually coming out unscathed) feel in response to their comments, which is so cute, isn’t it? Usually, these comments only serve to make people laugh at them, and of course, make people write long and hilarious posts making fun of them. This second effect may not be apparent to dipsticks, since, as described above, they are horrible at recognizing sarcasm.
And that’s all we have today boys and girls. Tune in tomorrow, when we will introduce you to our next Despicable Internet Animal: “The Anonymous: Friend or Foe? Because we have no clue”.
Does anyone else see the irony in bitching about rude behavior while being rude yourself?
Hi,i love Rachel Luttrell.I think she’s a great actress and a beautiful singer so i was wondering if she would ever get another chance to show of that wonderful voice on any episodes of Atlantis again?

No. Is that succint enough for ya? People like that only know how to be spoken to a certain way. They have no problems dishing it out, but throw it back in their face and then it’s “Poor widdle ickle anon” is the one that’s the victim.
Gimme a break!
Joe, thanks so much for all the pics. I loved them all, especially the one of Mr. Flanigan. But it’s great to see David, Paul and Jason too. Love them too 😉
To those who are asking about Torri’s 4th episode: I’m pretty sure Joe said in a previous entry that he would not say which was Torri’s 4th episode because it would reveal an important part of the plot (or spoil the surprise or something like that). I don’t remember the exact date, but I’m sure it was several weeks ago.
Or maybe I just dreamt Joe said that… *ahem*
Seriously I have to question why some posters here feel it is their right to take on anyone, anonymous or not, whose post they find rude or arrogant or condescending.
The only reason any of these things get to be seen by anyone is because joe makes it that way. If it was as bad as you soap-box, righteous protectors seem to think it is doncha think Joe would have just not made it public? If Joe makes it public why the heck would anyone waste time answering them? 1st you enable them by giving their posts attention, 2nd you basically bait them to answer you and continue the rudeness especially when you are just as rude, if not ruder, in your righteousness, 3rd you provoke them, 4th you give them a further stage to dance on.

Copernicus writes: “Do you feel there is there a certain irony to the expedition’s lead diplomat switching to a recurring role when the expedition reaches a crossroads where diplomatic skills are suddenly at a premium?”
Answer: Not at all. In fact, with all of the mounting dangers the expedition has faced in the Pegasus Galaxy, the question one should ask is not “Why is the military getting more involved?” but “What took it so long?”
Ah yes of course, how foolish of us not ask. Especially as the US military has such a wonderful track record for it’s diplomatic endeavours. 😉

My my, what a lot of spiteful jealousy around these parts today.
When you see someone like Joe Flanigan, who’s all class when you see him in real life, and then spot Chris (who I’m sure is a wonderful person, he just lacks wardrobe skills) looking like that — there’s no comparison.
No none at all, if Flannigan had a body like Judge he could afford to show it off like that too.
All Chris needs is a gold hoop in each ear, or maybe a diamond stud, and he’d look like he was ready for a shootout with some rapper types.
All that spite and racial sterotyping too. Joe, you really get all the best people on your blog, don’t you?
Great pics, thanks….
Wondering who the other technician was that was on whenever Gary wasn’t. He was also in the last ep, older gentleman, don’t know if he ever had lines.
Thank so soooo much for the gorgeous pics of Jason and Chris. Will the screen be able to handle so much hot???

Right? I’ll post whatever I want, in response to whatever I want. That guy was being a major jackhole, and I don’t feel it right to leave it unchallenged. In short, I have a right to write whatever the hell I want; it’ll of course be up to Joe if he wants to publish it or not. That I cannot control, and I don’t care to.

[Dwight Schrute]FALSE.[/Dwight Schrute]
The reason those comments are seen is because they were written. Do you think any of these people who come here to rag on Joe and other posters hope that their comments are not unscreened? No, of course not. They write these message hoping others will see them so they can get their dislike/hate across to their targets.
And it really doesn’t matter how “bad” they are, does it? I see a comment that I wished to reply to in a snarky matter, and so I do it. It’s really simple.
If Joe makes it public why the heck would anyone waste time answering them?
I can ask you the same question. As for me, I was bored and felt like giving someone what they deserved in my opinion.
1st you enable them by giving their posts attention, 2nd you basically bait them to answer you and continue the rudeness especially when you are just as rude, if not ruder, in your righteousness, 3rd you provoke them, 4th you give them a further stage to dance on.
I don’t see the problem. That post already engendered attention by being completely out of order; I bait them because I want them to answer, it’ll give me something more to laugh at. Am I self-righteous? Probably, but in this case I couldn’t care less. That guy was being an idiot and I really just wanted to make fun of him for it. Your 3rd and 4th reasons are pretty much the same as your second one.

You wish. ;-P
Man, these comments make me laugh.
Judge does have no dress sense in those pics, I’ll admit that.
Joe singing a lullaby to Teyla’s freaky alien child (come on, it’s wraith, right?) — what is this, American idol?
No singing!! Please, no singing!! From any of them!

I promise this will be the last, lol. I’m just extremely opinionated today. Feel free to smack me down and tell me to stop spamming your blog, lol.

Plus, i’m extremely opinionated… just incase you hadn’t figured that out. 😉
Oh and before I go, “Big Cheeky” and “PG16”? Please, you can do better than that. ;)Unlike certain people I don’t hide the fact of who I am, nor does PG15, unlike some….
Sorry, Joe. I am trying… (there’s your cue Anon) 😛 Any tips on how to be less opinionated or not ‘spamming your blog’? Shall I wait until just before you post and hit the anon’s all in one go? 😉
Sorry again, Joe.
Hi Joe, I hope you read this post as it has been a burnig question ever since I read one of the SGA ‘side-story’ novels. Now I know they don’t count in the general storyline of the show but, in ‘Exogenesis’ Rodney mentioned that the subsystems for the stardrive were shot, as in broken, either during the seige with the wraith, or when they practically ripped the pylon anchor raising the city from the ocean, or perhaps because the city has been floating on water for the past 10,000 years and not on a proper docking outpost, like the one in Antarctica, anyway these subsystems were beyond rapair and I believe he said something about needing spare parts or a Ancient to re-write the programming as it had degraded too, also the fact a stardrive is not actually meant to be run with only 1 Zero-Point-Module and remember how when the Ancients came back in the Return and everything was switched on due to Replicators leaving 3 ZPMs for a time; Rodney also says in the book that without all 3 ZPMs they wouldn’t be able too even see all of Atlantis’ subsysems, so they wouldn’t have been aware of the faulty subsystems to the stardrive with only 1 ZPM worth of systems activated, sorry for the rant but now my question is that is this the reason the stardrive conked out of hyperspace in the show, like did you have that as sort-of the reason, or did you have something else in mind?
One last question, there has been alot of spinning of late between Weir fans, after the Comic Con SGA Season 4 trailer was posted on Yahoo! TV; that Weir gets kidnapped by the Replicators as she is left alone in the jumper while the others raid the Asuran version of Atlantis for someway to fix their version, apparently they got there using Rodney’s hyperdrive for the Puddle Jumper he designed in Tao of Rodney, but thats a given as it was in the SciFi promos, and Carter is completely innocent in taking over because she was just stepping in at the time as she was highest ranking (other than Caldwell) and they needed a leader while they try to rescue Elizabeth, are they hot, cold, warm, or cool, or just looking for excuses not to blame poor Carter?
Thanks sooo much, I read your blog every morning, over here in New Zealand as it updates round 3am, hope you get to answar my questions . . . ^-^

My I guess is you would have to ask Joe why he makes them public if it’s not to encourage open dialog and exchange of opinions between fans.
Joe not only lets comments through on his blog that have strong opinions against others, but he has the honesty and courage to let ones through that take shots at him as well.
In the end, I think only Joe Mallozzi has the place to tell us what we can and can’t respond to in regards to the comments he posts on his blog.
You could try suggesting to him that if he doesn’t want a comment responded to that he add a disclaimer stating such to it.
Regarding Christopher Judge and his style of dressing: which I know was made by someone else, I’m just combining here.
Christopher Judge is a huge man: huge of heart and laughter and kindness and warmth. He has the courage to be who he is without fear and without apology.
The man has his own style. God Bless him for it 🙂
