Enjoyed a long overdue lunch today with one of my oldest friends (in every way), Lawrence, and his lovely wife Mel. I suggested we go out for lunch but they kindly invited us over for an end-of-summer barbecue. Check out my buddy manning the grill.
It was a belated birthday celebration of sorts as I missed out on his official birthday party in Portugal (on account of not being invited), but we made the most of it with saffron chicken, feta-less Greek salad, grilled zucchini, and assorted desserts.
Then it was time for presents! An assortment of remaindered chocolates I managed to intercept as the health department was destroying the inventory from that foreclosed bonbon shop AND…a special shout-out from t.v. veteran and longtime cast member of my buddy’s favorite show – Coronation Street – William Roache (aka Ken Barlow)!
The video came in just as tea had been served. Smashing timing.
