So, who’s it gonna be?
We got into Montreal yesterday and will be here for the next two weeks while my sister enjoys a well-deserved break in Croatia – and the floors at our place are finally done. Or that’s the plan anyway. The renovation company we hired is going to be sending a team over on Saturday to clear the place out and then work begins…I’m assuming…on Monday. The rest of the floorboards will be taken out and our new floor put in. Akemi hated the old dark wood and is looking forward to a lighter shade that, coincidentally, is the exact same color as Sharky. Meaning that, from now on, we can only adopt fawn pugs. But we’ll see.
Tomorrow, we head down to do some shopping at Akemi’s favorite Korean grocery store (near) downtown, then heading over to see my old high school buddy (Buddy, and Mrs. Buddy) for a barbecue.
Before leaving, my sister has left me some ghost pepper and jalapeños from her garden. Tomorrow, I’m going to dice them up, mix them with a little salt and olive oil, and let them sit for future use. I usually do this with habaneros – which are the perfect heat level – but am interested to see how the ghost pepper version delivers. Wish me luck!
