So, how is everyone enjoying the holidays?  Here in Montreal Sis sprung mom from the seniors’ residence and she is spending the week with us at our sister’s place.

We overate – as is the custom.  Grilled shrimp, lamb chops, pasta, peppers and dessert.  Lots of dessert!

And another modest Christmas haul.  Pistachio cream (as also is the custom), pistachio liquor, novelty socks, underwear and, of course, matching sweaters…

Courtesy of sis.  Mine is extra large but I think I needed the double extra large.

Oh, check out what I found in the pantry.  No one knows how long they’ve been there but my sister suspects they’re ghost peppers.

And pretty pretty spicy!

Tonight, I’m settling in with a (hopefully) good book while Akemi surfs the net and my sister and mom watch a hackneyed Christmas movie starring a bunch of huge stars.

  1. Happy Boxing Day! We’re taking it easy but have enjoyed visits from relatives and friends.

Wish I could post photos in this comment. My sister took me out for birthday brunch on the 23rd. Banana-pecan pancakes for the win!

  2. Christmas day I was getting something out of the oven. You know when you open the oven door and get a little blast of hot air in your face that blows your hair back? Well, I noticed my hair kept blowing back. I had turned the oven off, but it wasn’t turning off! I had to flip the circuit breaker to it. My 36-year-old range finally bit the dust. Rest in peace. Now I’m in the market for a new one. Andria has a beautiful house. I was trying to see in her kitchen. I bet her stove is black. Could be white. Either would go good in her house. So, I’ll be surfing the internet with Akemi!

EVERYONE looks great! And all your favorite foods too! Love your shirts!

  3. Great picture of your family!! We had a great family Christmas, too! And doesn’t every body overeat at Christmas?!

  4. Have a great time with your Mum, Sis and the fur babies whilst wearing your fab matching jumpers xxx what was the Christmas film and was it better than the Hallmark ones 😂

  5. That looks like a wonderful Christmas! Your Mom looks good and I bet she was glad you were all there.

    On to the New Year!

    👋🏻

  6. Happy Christmas, my new Kenmore stove works great and is so easy to clean, only thing missing is an announcer yelling that I’ve won a new car, but I desperately need a new bed, psyching myself up for the hassle of shopping for it by looking ahead to how good it will be not to sleep on a bed of nails.

    1. @Shinyhula – Makes mental note of your Kenmore stove My Kenmore washer and dryer are still going strong at 36 years old too!

I recently got new mattress. Replaced my EXTREMELY old spring mattress with a foam mattress. I regret foam every night now. My advice is spring for a spring mattress! 🙂

  7. What a great photo of you all! And the matching sweaters are adorable.

Very quiet Christmas here, went up to my sister’s to have dinner with her and her husband so it was just the three of us. Already thinking of taking my tree down due to certain parrot issues, LOL. One ornament (about 70 years old) wound up in a thousand pieces on the floor, so that’s how that’s going!

I’m actually looking forward to getting a start in the new year on a bunch of stuff, as well as finishing the trail guidebook stuff.
