This is the time of the season when things are finally winding down and I can finally catch a bit of a rest. Although there are still episodes to finish shooting, cuts to edit, visual effects to approve, and episodic music to review, the writing is done and that means my nights and weekends are (mostly) my own. I no longer have to obsess over plotting or run dialogue in my head when I’m in the shower, driving, or lying in bed. The script-in-progress no longer haunts me like a fevered dream. I’m free. Free! For maybe another week or two at which point I really have to start thinking about season 4.
As you’re all aware, I have a 5 year plan for Dark Matter and so far, so good. In the words of the inimitable Hannibal Smith –
And this season’s has come together quite nicely. Congratulations to me. Now, time to move on to my fourth 13-episode plan.
Same time last year, I made a list of the arcs I wanted to explore in season 3. They were:
Ryo Ishida
The Blink Drive
The corporate war
The independent colonies
Dwarf Star
The alt. Marauder crew
In addition to a myriad of character arcs, revelations, and surprises.
Can’t wait for you to see what we have in store for you in season 3. Awaiting the official announcement of our premiere date and, while I can’t reveal it, I can tell you it’ll be sooner than you think!
Finally, I leave you with a Suji-related post. Me and my girl enjoying peanut butter –
Oooo, it’s getting sooo close innit?
Dark Matter Season 3.
Oooo. That sounds so good. Hope we find out when it airs very, verry soon.
That’s a sweet vid of you n Suji.
Oh I hope it’s sooner than we think! Orphan Black announced June, and it’s killing me waiting for so long, especially since it’s their final season. At least I get Doctor Who coming up next week!
I’ve always loved all animals. The one thing that continually blows me away, however, is how they always accept their circumstances as if they were entirely expected. Three years ago, we found a stray kitten who was so thin, we could easily feel his ribs and backbone. When we brought him home, he ate almost constantly. When he wasn’t eating, he was sleeping. It took several days until we realized that he also liked to play. Now, he’s a big fellow with a bit of a spare tire. All through this experience, he behaved as if being rescued was the most natural thing in the world.
Animals seem to take things in stride. I’m sure that Suji is the same. I have always admired their stoicism.
Too funny. 😀 Suji really does seem to enjoy that peanut butter, eh.
Just checked her steadily rising follower count on instagram for today.
Wow. Exalted retirement, courtesy of a resplendent daughter, here he comes!
😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
Got in around midnight last night. Sent ya an email just before finally drifting off after 1 am.
Suji’s tongue almost seems to big for her body! 🙂 She was working that peanut butter with it like nobody’s business, so cute.
I would still expect that it would still be in later June sometime for the premiere. With the amount of post-production stuff to do. Mid-June, maybe?
Ah, the dreaded peanut butter torture…
You win again, Baron Destructo!
Well Congrats are in order. At least when you are finished. Oh, I too had last season in order, at least in what I was going to do and programs I was going to watch. As I was entering a nice Summer I had It all mapped out. Instead I woke up in a room I didn’t recognize, Television I had not planned for and food I had no control of and a right side I could not use. I had no Idea that I was 4 miles away from home. The closest I heard was Bethesda…only the president goes there and I thought wow I have some air miles coming my way. It turned out I was it was a hospital in St. Paul and I was moved from there to a rehabilitation facility. I had no memory of the accident, the head trauma, or my passwords. The one thing I remember was the whole in my stomach where the feeding tube went. I still have the scar. And from that it wasn’t used much because I had a habit of pulling the tube out. Well it is good I didn’t write for a living because making a comprehensive sentence was out of the question. I was that way for 2 weeks. The calendar notes when I opened my eyes and when I started speaking. Now I just finish the 2nd. episode of SS 2 “Better Call Saul”. A very good show if not a stretch for realism. I have dvd and waiting for SS3 of Dark Matter.
If you are on your bike remember to read the signs and ware your helmet.
Awe, .don’t ya just love the A-Team…
Murdock: “That concludes your flight on Miracle Airlines, the only airline where Lady Luck is your co-pilot.”
B.A.: “Shut up fool!”
We could all use some lip smacking peanut butter to celebrate the nearing end of your Dark Matter season 3 production.
@ Duptiang – Glad you have recovered well enough to write very intelligent and descriptive comments here. Sounds like your accident was very serious but you have made it back. Glad you are doing so well.
@Duptiang Sending more hugs, eat scritches & tummy rubs for your continued recovery. Hang in there. xo
@gforce I’m with you on the premiere date.
So funny, Suji obviously adores peanut butter.
What happened to production ‘Day 82 of 91’? Did I time travel and missed it? 😉
lol. ooops.
meant to type ear scritches above – not ‘eat’ scritches.
Albeit – that would be kinda funny, eh?!
I pity the fool who messes with the Raza crew! Take your feet off the pedals and enjoy the down hill ride!
I guess I’ve stopped my time travelling – ‘Day 82 of 91’ and normal service has been resumed 😉
@Ponytail and Drea. Thanks guys; doing better than my Prognoses! You are what make Joe’s audience so great and I keep reading and sometimes writing. Glad I can still make a contribution. I will take tummy rubs and ear scratching (smiles). I have someone in mind (Yaheem dee-a little Thai).
D’awww, go Suji, go!
Hoping for a June premiere just in time for my birthday 🙂
That’s so scary Duptiang! It’s such a blessing you’re back with us.
All those people who design and built the sets are awesome! It must make it easier for the actors when the set looks that realistic.
Little Suji loves peanut butter. Glad she found y’all!
@Duptiang So glad you are recovering well. That must have been so scary. I can’t even imagine. I’m so glad you are back on the blog.
The closest story I could share was when I was younger I pulled a stunt with this swing apparatus. There was a pole in the middle and a steel bar that made it look like a T with the middle pole. On each end were swings with those bulky heavy plastic straps. My friends in the apartment complex discovered that you could make someone “fly” and it was so much more fun. The person who wanted to “fly” would put the strap across their stomach. They would hold on to the pole and make the other person spin around as high as they possibly could. Then the person who was near the pole holds on, runs out, and then you could, in essence, fly. I did it many, many times. This one time the chain on the swing broke and I flew but not the flying I expected. I traveled quite a long way and hit my head on railroad ties that outlined the swing area and I imagine I was about 5-7 feet off the ground when I landed on it. I also had the house key in my sock and that went into my leg. I woke up (don’t know how long I was out). My friends helped me back to the townhouse and I called my mother. When my mother and my sister showed up I looked at them and said, “What are you doing home so early?” My mother took me into the doctor’s office and they were asking me questions I could not answer, like what day of the week it was. I think I talked 5 full minutes trying to rationally go through the points… “Well Lisa was there so it must have been X day, but no, wait, that was Robyn so it must have been… (you get the idea). Definitely just a concussion, but it was scary for someone in the 7th or 8th grade (I can’t remember now which year it was–LOL). I was a little daredevil when I was younger.
Jeff and I can’t wait for season 3. I definitely plan to get the season 2 DVD. Can’t wait to see all the surprises. The cliffhangers are cruel (in a good way). It really does make you want to tune in the next week to see what happens.
Suji is so adorable. Just want to snuggle with her.
