January 9, 2017: Dark Matter Season 3 – Day 27 Of 91! And Dogs!

I think I’ll take a little time while I’m waiting for my Episode 301 Producer’s Cut WIP (Work In Progress) to land in my inbox to just go ahead and upload today’s blog entry.  I spent the day at the munitions factory with director Steve DiMarco, the cast, the crew, and my laptop.  While they were shooting, I was tap-tap-tapping away on this latest script.  As always, slow going in the beginning but if recent history has taught me anything it’s that the pace should pick up in about, oh, 50 pages or so.  Pictured above: Steve calling the shots.

Mayhem under the hot lights.  Who are those men with guns?  Who are those people on the floor?  Who’s that guy behind the camera?

  1. Hi Joe – I just finished talking with Noreen (my half sister and your costume gal) and like I told her – you guys have the coolest jobs in the world and when you do it well (as you all do) it makes something wonderful that everyone enjoys. Thanks from this martime girl!

  2. I’m really intrigued by Director Steve DiMarco. He could be guest star of the week. Also equally intrigued by the scene above. My guess would be down trodden miners under GA or one of the corporations thumb. Perhaps suppression of a potential revolt. Or it could be that everyone is just taking a break and sitting down.

Great doggie pics. I think they all deserve a treat. How do you maneuver around the condo with all the dog beds?

Sad to read that Tabor will not be making an appearance this season but this just makes his eventual return that much sweeter. I imagine that the season is already jam packed with suspense, mystery, non-stop thrills, and much awaited revelations.

    Have a great Tuesday!

  3. Would Suji mind if I picked her up and snuggled with her like a widdle baby, and held her for hours?

  4. Forgot to gloat earlier. How’s on set lunch going this year? I seem to remember a lack of variation and flavor from previous observations. Today my work re-opened it’s cafeteria (closed for 2 yrs) now renamed The Baroness Bistro. Besides the “meat & 3” with a variation on the meats and veggies, we now have pizza, an extended grill that besides your typical burger variations, now has Cuban Pork Panini, Cajun Chicken Panini, Philly Cheesesteak, French Dip, Patty Melts, Southwestern Eggrolls, sweet potato fries, onion rings, tater wedges, & tater tots. An Asian grill with noodles and beef/pork/chicken variations. A humongous salad bar (they weigh your salad .49 cents an oz) – my co-worker paid $10 for her salad today, and a soup section with toppings. Plus pre-made sandwiches and salads, Subway & Chik-fil-a. But what I’m most excited about is the SUSHI, made fresh. I stopped and got some for dinner tonight when I left. They called it a rainbow roll – mostly tuna and avocado. They also have sushimi and nigiri, and veggie rolls and Spring rolls. Lots of choices to start working through.

@maggiemayday: so observant! I think Steve is wearing a kilt

  5. The pups looks so comfy in their beds, so cute, Suji has the face for the product!
~Day 27, almost 1/3 thru, the new year is flying also. Have fun when you can! thanks for sharing,,..

  6. Suji and Bubba are making me jealous with their comfy napping and chillin’. It’s been a battle to drag myself through 9 degree mornings (today we got “icy rain,” which is much worse than “rainy ice.”) but it was all worth it to get the Thai Salad and tomato soup and cran-orange muffin.

  7. Gee, is director Steve playing a character? All those tattoos, are they real? That’s a lot of ear piercings, and that… hair. Hm-m… I agree, it looks like a knee poking out of a kilt.

    Adorable pup pics! 🐶 🐺

  8. I looked at Steve DiMarco’s imdb page. A lot of work that I’ve seen. Looking forward to his episode (well and all the rest too 🙂 )
The pups look great. Hoping that Suji’s barn mates are having just as wonderful of a “next chapter” as she is.

  9. Could have SWORN I commented on this one.

Love the kilt. I would have to agree with Maggie L80’s observation about the scenes.

@MaggieL80 Sounds like a great reopening with a large variety of foods for everyone’s palates.

    @SHinyhula Brrrrrrrrrr.

Love the puppy pictures. OF COURSE.
