January 6, 2017: Dark Matter Season 3 – Day 25 Of 91!

Today was long and late.  I started off with first blocking in the munitions factory, then headed over to the production offices for a trifecta of meetings – art department, props, and background.  Following a quick lunch, I jumped on two rewrites and completed the tease of my (second to last?) script of the season.  Just in time to screen the Bruce McDonald’s director’s cut of Episode 302!  I watched it once straight through once, then one more time for notes.  Two hours later, I was done.  At which point Ron Murphy’s director’s cut of Episode 304 appeared in my inbox.  Both GREAT episodes!  I capped off my day by heading back to the munitions factory for more mayhem with director Steve DiMarco – and a 9:00 p.m. wrap.

  1. I’m tired just reading that! Sounds pretty productive, though.

I’m headed to Moncton tomorrow to pick up the new parrot, Zoie. I’m getting pretty anxious to getting her back home here and get settled in. Hopefully, all will go well!

  2. Ooohhh..episode 304. Heard lots about that episode; can’t wait to start voting on the title, so we can get some hints!

  3. If I had to work that long and late, I’d start drinking too. That is a really long day! Craig and Josh look like brothers. Good looking set of doors up there…

  4. Busy, busy day! We all appreciate everyone’s hard work!

Stay warm. I know you are much colder up there than we are in the South but it’s pretty darn cold here and we got a light dusting of the white stuff. Snow always makes me giddy like a twelve year old school girl.

Watched The Magnificent Seven earlier. I haven’t seen it in years and I’d forgotten how good it is. Great study of characters. I was reading the IMDB background info on the movie and cast and found it highly entertaining. I can now turn the movie into a drinking game – every time Steve McQeen takes off his hat – have a drink! You’ll be smashed by the end of the movie.

  5. @Joe Sounds like things are going much better this season and the plan to start earlier and work longer days is getting you through production much quicker.

My guess as to who is in the gas mask?

Someone smart -who heard a rumor you were bringing the lovely but gaseous Lulu to the set and just wanted to be prepared, eh. LOL 😀

Have a long day still ahead of me here, as well – but will email ya later tonight with gift details later as promised.

Sending my daily dose of hugs n love to you & the family.

  6. @Gforce. Good luck today! I’m sure Zoie with be very happy in her new home. Everything I’ve read about Myers, thus so far, says they are fairly mellow, quiet and affectionate and the only trick needed to help them adjust and be happy in their new home is to simply allow them equal social time with everyone in the family, (including their feathered siblings), so they do not bond solely to one individual and shy from all others.

Finally had a chance to catch first couple episodes of Incorporated, with Dave Hewlett, last night at a friends house. It was really good. Some would argue the timing of the story makes it too painful to watch – but I think its just what is needed right now and applaud Ben Affleck & Matt Damon for their courage to put it out there.

  7. Haha … Ditto @Ponytail.

    Oo, nice t-shirt Ian.

@gforce Good luck with your trip to pick up Zoie. I’m sure all will go well. Eagerly awaiting your pix n updates 😊

  8. Sorry you posted that last entert as it was a mistake because once out I don’t have any editing like a Facebook input.

  9. That is one very long day. I love all the pictures of the crew. You can see how much they love their jobs in their faces.

I hope @gforce things went well.

@Drea I am watching Travelers on Netflix right now, but I’ll look into Incorporated. I didn’t realize Affleck and Damon were behind the show.
