No.  Seriously.  Apparently this team, the Mammoth, have existed for two years!  I feel like I’m on the wrong side of one of those Berenstein Bears scenarios.

Meanwhile, what the hell is going on with Youtube? It seems like every day, I see a post from someone I follow who has been demonetized without explanation or recourse. They just get the AI run-around. This from a company that awarded themselves the “Free Expression” Award.

Finally, a question for you all.  When your family roasts a whole chicken, who gets the butt?

    Sorry about the duplicate comment there, I didn’t see it after I logged in so I made another, I literally only use wordpress to keep an eye on your blog lol. If you had full control over the direction of the new series, how would you presonally address the timeline issue?

        The biggest one. The gap between the events of SGU and current time. What do you personally think would be the best way to rectify it? Everything I think of has huge trade offs, but then I’ve never written a show.

          That one is the easiest to address. Everyone went into stasis. Who knows how long it took Destiny to complete that leg of its journey.

            I meant more the greater universe, not SGU-specific events. Properly addressing what happened to Destiny and Atlantis would probably take a series of movies unless they were part of the new series somehow. Would you find a reasonable justification for SGC/Homeworld Command operations to be scaled back so that everything can remain in secret? Give up on it being secret? Pick up where SGU left off(Not specifically on Destiny) in the timeline(2011 or so)? Something else? Personally, I always thought the idea that the show was happening in its timeline in tandem with our own gave it a unique character, but I don’t know how best to preserve that without creating a thousand problems. (Though again, I’m not a writer lol!)I’m curious to know how you would(or wouldn’t) address that if you had full control of the franchise.

              Tough for me to answer at present as I’m currently working on a new series that directly addresses most of these questions.

                Ah I suppose that is true. How about this then… Assuming such things have been decided, are you personally content with how the new show will address everything? What percent of it is of your vision? Do you feel the longstanding fans will be content?

    Joe, I don’t even follow hockey closely and I knew (barely) about the Mammoth! I do have very hockey involved friends though, so maybe that’s how I heard.

    Great article on DM! I’ll never give up hope that this series is somehow resolved.

    Youtube has become an AI slop-ridden mess. Channels with literally almost a million subscribers are having their views dropping to only a few thousand per video, while the feed is rife with cheap AI generated crap. Enshittification on steroids.

    I think my Dad always ate the chicken butt in those cases? I can’t really remember, but I know I refused to based on the name.

    Never thought about who gets the butt. My wife has been cutting the whole chicken in half, cooks faster and better. Any word on when the new SG series will be out?

        Thanks. We are running out of recent good scifi shows. We are going to start watching SG1 again, great show. We bought the DVDs a few years ago, we can watch anytime.

    My mom used the chicken butts to make brother. No one really eat it but the dog, afterwards.

    I’m not sure about Youtube but social media in general has become a cesspool. I’ve noted a huge amount of AI bots from Nigeria lately on X.
