Film #12: Christmas Carol (2022)
A young man enters a juvenile detention facility to avenge the death of his twin brother.
My thoughts: Found this one a little confusing and wasn’t enamored of the downbeat ending.
Film #13: Time to Hunt (2020)
In the near future, a financial crisis will hit Korea and slums arise. From those areas, a group of young people commit crime to survive.
My thought: The only “near future” thing about this movie is its summary. Interesting although it suffers from suspect logic throughout.
Film #14: Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002)
A recently laid off factory worker kidnaps his former boss’ friend’s daughter, hoping to use the ransom money to pay for his sister’s kidney transplant.
My thoughts: Dark, quirky and brilliantly directed.
